Reading have made a final contract offer to Hammers target Jimmy Kebe.
The Wokingham Times is reporting that the 27-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, has been offered an improved two-and-a-half year deal in an attempt to keep him at the Madejski Stadium.
West Ham are said to have had an offer turned down for the Mali international winger on Sunday and Royals boss Brian McDermott has admitted Kebe could leave before the window closes on February 1, even though he wants him to stay.
“I can only say what I’ve been told and that is we are not looking to sell him in this window,” McDermott told the Berkshire newspaper.
“I spoke to the board and they have said he is going nowhere. That’s where we’re at and we shall see what happens.”
But the Royals boss acknowledged: “If someone comes in and gives us an absolute fortune, then they might sell.”
