Re: Tottenham V West Ham United FC
just finished watching the game... had it live on the telly here but i slept in a little... c'mon, it's a sunday morning.
so funny coming on here and watching people's comments as the game progressed (with me knowing the end result)
first half was a good solid display but still squeaky bum time as we've played decently and been beaten by a soft single goal because we couldn't score so many times...
the 'nolan' effort from the free kick was exactly the same cheeky tactic that Carroll scored from a while back - but whereas Carroll had a clear line to goal, nolan had a player on top of him and had nowhere to place the ball but a little wide.
started the 2nd half under the hammer and it looked like our good work might once again produce nothing but a loss.
reid's attempt from the corner was actually cleared off the line by hitting nolan... but fortunately is ricocheted straight back to Reid and he slotted it calmly past Loris for the opener.
So glad to see Vaz Te getting the reward of a goal. His clever shot (watch the footwork) hit the goalkeeper but lady luck was on our side and the rebound hit Vaz Te on the knee - where it could have gone anywhere in the world... but it actually went straight over the stricken keeper and into the back of the net.
Best part of that goal was seeing how happy Ravel was for Vaz - jumping all over him to celebrate the goal.
morrison's goal - as you will have seen from the links above - was just a beauty. Diame picked him out midway inside our half with a deft little pass. Morrison ran all the way from inside our half, beat two defenders and just chipped the keeper to wrap up what will go down as a truly splendid victory.
We scored on the road.
We scored three times.
We kept a clean sheet.
we won at White Hart Lane for the first time this century.
We beat Spurs
We climbed out of the relegation places
People can complain about BFSA as much as they like. He got his tactics and team selection spot on today. Everyone in the team played perfectly.
Little worries we weeing Tomkins and Noble grimacing towards the end - hope they're not actual injuries.
Good to see Cole back.
After the last few weeks of shite results... this really was something truly special.
And we all know how much the Spurts will hate this... and that makes it even sweeter.
Of course... being West Ham... it should be pointed out that we're actually only 1 point from being third from bottom...

Re: Tottenham V West Ham United FC
What a lark that was!
We smashed 'em! Every so often a result comes along that makes it so fupping worthwhile being a Hammers fan. Today was one of those days.
& Ravel? He Gazza'd spurs in their own backyard!

Re: Tottenham V West Ham United FC
if you watch BFSA post-match interview on the BBC sports pages, the interviewer mentions that people don't often consider him to be much of as tactical genius...
to which BFSA replies... (paraphrasing) "if my name were Allerdicci (my spelling) then they probably would call me a tactical genius... but with a midlands accent with a bit of a northern accent too..."
so after a day like today and in future whenever things are going well for us perhaps the terraces should start up a chant of "Allerdicci's Claret & Blue Army"

I have to say HH66, you have gone up several degrees in my estimation with that comment, given that your dislike of BFS and all his works is well known to us all.Hungry Hammer 66 wrote:

I really was thinking BFS was actually incapable of producing a Plan B, and when he produced something so radically different and devastatingly successful, personally I was gobsmacked. Maybe we will be back to lumping long balls up to CFC next time - I wouldn't be surprised - but having driven us distracted playing Maiga in a role he couldn't handle, the man has now shown us that there are alternatives. Now that he has come out of his tactical shell let's hope he stays out and astounds us all .
Anyway, the warm afterglow of that match is one of those rare things that all Hammers can truly savour.
