Stoke FC vs. West Ham United
C'mon... no one else chomping at the bit to put this up?
Yet another must-win game... and they'll all be must-wins until we have 40+ points in the bank or are completely (not just mathematically) safe from relegation.
After the season we've had (having) there's no way I'll feel completely safe until we're... err... completely safe.
Sitting in Tenth might seem nice.. but only being 6 points off relegation means it's still squeaky bum time even given our position and current run of form.
These are our next four games:
SAT 15 MAR 2014 - Stoke v West Ham
SAT 22 MAR 2014 - West Ham v Man Utd
WED 26 MAR 2014 - West Ham v Hull
MON 31 MAR 2014 - Sunderland v West Ham
So... three wins and a draw (I figure UTD will have sorted their shit out but would love three points off them as well). That'll give us 41 points and presumably safety.
Coast thru April and a nice relaxing summer to rebuild and reshape the team.
Anything less than 9 points against that bunch and we might have more squeaky bum moments to come for a while.

The thugs have both Charlie Adam and Jonathan Walters suspended for this game
We should have too much for them and I will be disappointed if we don't get at least 1 point here

Always a tough one, but not unreasonable to expect a point at least. COYI!

That still leaves Huth, Whelan & Shawcross, anyone of which is capable of a leg breaking challenge.

Huth out for the season. So only Whelan, Shawcross, N'Zonzi and Wilkinson left to break legs !Blakey wrote:Tony P wrote:The thugs have both Charlie Adam and Jonathan Walters suspended for this game

Re: Stoke FC vs. West Ham United
Good stuff, anyone watching the game? We look any good? I see Stoke have 60% of the possession but that seems typical of the Hammers lately, little possession but more goals than the opposition! COYI!!!

Let's hope it goes the best one of those three ways! Nolan had the ball in the net but, according to the team on Sky, probably was offside. COYI!

Re: Stoke FC vs. West Ham United
No pace, no width = a wasted Andy Carroll
No pace = no ability to break quickly, no ability to halt a quick counterattack
Without Downing and Jarvis we must have the slowest team in the Premiership
We have nobody who actually runs centrally at defenders and turns them...............except Ravel Morrison............and BFS cannot control him
Our best header of a ball in defence? James Collins. So BFS drops him when we are up against a 6ft 7in Peter Crouch
It beggars belief

Re: Stoke FC vs. West Ham United
well that was a complete shower of shit.
we started really well, got a great early goal and even if we weren't exactly bossing the game at least looked very comfortable and composed.
then as time went on... Stoke started pushing and pushing and we kinda... I don't even know how to describe it... we just kinda slipped out of the game...
ugh... three points thrown away.
we're 5 points clear of relegation but only 3 points away from being fourth from bottom...
fupp that squeaky bum time.
I know they're not playing well these days but having Man Utd as our next game isn't something to relish... four wins out of five to a potential three losses on the spin...
still... three wins out of our next three and we should pretty much be safe.
not a good way to start me saturday.

Just finished watching the game late on tv here. Adrian was poor and how we missed James Collins. Disappointed.

any idea why Ginge didn't start?
given how shite our defending was today it seems like a decision that cost us a lot.
