sometimes it can be very short notice, last week we were at home to bromley, fair amount of rain in the afternoon, kick off was supposed to be at 7.45, the game got cancelled at 7 after a down poor at 6pm, The Bromley lot were pretty much at the ground when it got called.

Almost as bad as pulling in to the ground at Mansfield to find out on twitter that the game has been postponed

Last nights was Essex Senior Cup so not that far for Grays to travel, I was told it was the same ref we had for a cup game last season who checked the pitch at 20 past 7 for a 7.45 kick off .

It was a superb performance mate.

Their players didn't fancy it from the minute they got there, they were moaning about the pitch after walking on it before kick off.

One of their committee came out with a comment of "Barnet wont play on this in the FA Trophy next Saturday" Really ? what are they going to turn up and refuse to play even if a ref deems the pitch ok ?

They got absolutely hammered against a team playing fantastic football with the pitch playing no part in the oppositions poor performance.

We had an exciting 0-0 at home against Barnet today, end to end stuff and great to test ourselves against one of the non league big boys.

Spoilt a bit by the ref favouring them with most decisions and reducing us to ten men early in the second half for a professional foul when it looked like our player took the ball when one of theirs was clean through on goal.

We were probably the better side when down to ten men but just couldn't nick that important winner.

Martin Allen was in the opposition dug out, we don't usually hear opposition managers as vocal as ours but Mad Dog was giving his players what for for the majority of the match.

Replay at Barnet on Tuesday to deal with now.

    BBC

Hereford United is wound up by High Court over tax debt

The winding-up petition was brought by HM Revenue and Customs, which is thought to be owed £116,000. Owner Andy Lonsdale had promised to invest £1m in the club, which was expelled from the Football Conference in June after failing to pay creditors. But he was late to court and the judge was not satisfied there were sufficient funds.

West Mercia Police said officers had been deployed to the Edgar Street ground following "reports of antisocial behaviour involving 20 to 30 people". The club's debt to their football creditors, including members of the current squad, other club staff and clubs from which the Bulls loaned players during the 2013-14 season, added up to £148,000. The MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire called the move "a victory". Jesse Norman said it was "a bittersweet moment, but the fact of the matter is that after months and months of delay we have now won though. I think it is the best Christmas present we could ever have wanted and this is the beginning of something very significant and good and long-term and new in football for Herefordshire".

The club has had a troubled few years, with spiralling debts, low attendance, and overspending on players leaving no money to pay tax bills. London businessman Tommy Agombar took over the club on 4 June 2014 - but was forced to stand down just 13 days later when he failed the Officers and Directors Test. Tommy Agombar, who was the club's owner for 13 days, was confronted in June by fans angry at the state of its finances
Today was the tenth time Mr Lonsdale, who took over from Agombar in June, had been ordered to appear at the High Court in London. His barristers told the judge the money was definitely in the bank but they had no documentation to prove it.

Mr Lonsdale, who claimed he had evidence of sufficient funds, said he was stuck in traffic and could not get to the court in time, which the judge said "was not good enough".

The winding-up order was issued moments after Mr Lonsdale was due at court, at just after 16:30 GMT. The club, formed in 1924, were 14th in the Southern League Premier Division and drew their last game at Dunstable 1-1 on Saturday. They were due to play Hitchin on Saturday.

Supporters gathered at the club's ground at Edgar Street, where one man said: "We will come back. It may take 10 years, but we'll be back." Herefordshire Council said:
"As Hereford United Football Club (1939) Limited is in the process of being wound up and a liquidator will be appointed, this action triggers the council's right as landlord to forfeit the leases. The council will now pursue this and seek to gain formal repossession of all three sites leased to the club. Once the ground has been secured, the council will consider the appropriate process for procuring a new tenant to ensure the continuation of football."

    Gutting news ...

seems very sad situation to see any club go under, but as campo said, maybe a new and better fan controlled club can emerge.

It happened (in a slightly different way) with Wimbledon, and in Rugby Union London Scottish have managed to do it, dropping ten leagues after falling out of the premiership in 1996-7, they are back in the Rugby Championship. Wimbledon are back in league football it was only in 2005 I saw them play in the Isthmian league.

It can be done, I hope the fans at Hereford get the chance to do it the right way for their club.

We lost 3-1 at Bishops Stortford...typical of football really missed a couple of chances early on and from the minute we missed the best chance the players couldn't do a thing right after that. Cant complain though been spoilt in the last few months.

Well the weather turned a tad on the nasty side for this one

we scraped through 2-1 against Stains, who have to be the poorest team I have seen down the Camrose for a long time, we should have been 4 or 5 up within the first half hour but went in only 2-0 at half time
then we turned to rubbish in the second half, had we been up against a middle to top side I suspect we would have been on the wrong end of a hiding

Rob Dickie looks ok, so far
