Moore and Dickie both played well again
Moore is becoming one hell of a shot stopper
and Dickie got labelled as the Franz Beckenbauer of non league again today, he can bring a ball out and lay of some nice passes at this level

    Basingstoke town 1 - 0 Eastbourne
    Concord 1 - 0  Staines

Basingstoke move back in to 3rd place on 41 points
7 points behind Boreham but 4 games in hand

Concord go to 11th on 30 points, 7 points above Farnborough who occupy the last relegation spot (long may that continue) rofl
but still only 9 points of  the last play off place

Edit , Concord move to 12th, did not realise the Bath result had not come through

I thought it was going to be one of those days today.

We scored within a minute, had a player bought down when clean through and the ref only gave a yellow to their player in the first half, their keeper has played out of his skin as well as being saved by the post once....had a few scares late on but took the points in the end.

I forgot to mention I won the Twitter Vanarama competition to win 2 half season tickets and a signed shirt just before New Year Very Happy

I'm sure I heard the other day that they have a squad of near enough 30 players !!!!

One of our ex-players is a pro now and came to watch us at Mansfield, he was telling us they played Forest Green Rovers and they have players on a similar wage to that dude.....shocking.

they wanted him out anyway by the sound of it
but his wage is 2 a week
expect another 4 -5 players of this ilk to the fleet soon
looks like they are going to try to spend their way out of the league

Ebbsfleet are now taking the piss

their last 8 signings, over the 18 month contracts will cost £750K, just for those 8 players.

That is double Basingstokes budget for all staff for a whole year

evens really Basingstoke 1 -1 Gosport
However Gosport should have been down to 10 after a clear punch by the no 7 on Manny , the scuffle though ended up with manny and the no 7 getting a yellow each, ref could not have seen anything as his view was blocked (I was in direct line) the lino with a clear view bottled the job and near or turned away, who ever the lino is should hang his boots up

Will take the point Gosport have a bit about them but bloody dirty with it, also its like have 11 nolans in the refs face when they are on the back foot

I went to watch Dagenham & Redbridge v Concord in the Essex Senior cup last night. Zavon Hines played for Dagenham....well I say played, he had one of their shirts on Smile

Drew 2-2 but beat them 4-2 on penalties.

Disappointing result, lost 1-2 at home to Bromley, Bromley are a good side but we proved a couple times during the game that if we moved the ball through the middle quickly they could be easily undone, problem was our players and manager did not seem to pick up on Bromley's weak point

I think we benefited from playing them home and away over Christmas/New Year. The first game we got smashed, learnt from that and beat them at thier place.

Good win for us at home against Whitehawk 3-0 Saturday. Caught them at a good time, 3rd in the league but they had a couple of players suspended, only had 3 on the bench & a limping keeper from the off.

    Basingstoke Town Official Site

    Rob Dickie Loan Spell Extended

Jason Bristow has extended central defender Rob Dickie’s loan spell from Reading for another month. The Basingstoke manager made his move as Jay Gasson is about a fortnight away from recovering from a broken toe. Bristow told the Basingstoke Gazette:
“The good news is that we have extended Rob Dickie’s loan. He is very calm on the ball and gives us options, so we are pleased he will remain with us for another month.”
