Re: West ham United FC v Spurs
First game of the season rolls around again and it's the dear old Spurts. Beating 'em four times in a row would be deeply, deeply satisfying. I have absolutely no idea whether we will be good enough, but I've built up plenty of blind faith and mindless optimism during the closed season. Team could be full of new faces or full of BFS caution, anyone's guess - find out tomorrow.
May I take this opportunity of wishing all Hammers everywhere a happy and successful new season, free from anxiety and frustration. Some hope, eh....
COME ON YOU IRONS!

Re: West ham United FC v Spurs
It would obviously be great if we could make it 4 wins out of 4 against them tomorrow but I think the best we can really hope for tomorrow is point and no injuries !
My team would be : Adrian,O`Brien,Tomkins,Reid,Cresswell,Downing,Noble,Diame,Nolan,RVT,Zarate
BENCH:Jussi,Potts,Collins,Kouyate,Poyet,Cole,Valencia

Like others I'm hopping for the best.
Don't think much of us in midfield and again nothing up front.

As it's a derby and form goes out the window, a home game and the players KNOW how much this means to the fans I'm cautiously optimistic we can at least draw if not one this one. Wooooohoooooo

In the words of the great Pte Fraser...........'We're all doomed'
With that team I'll be amazed if we score at all, and Ginge has looked slower than old razor Ruddock so far this season, Tomkins not even on the bench? Cole playing over Zarate n Valencia, even half fit he has got to be a better choice!!!

Re: West ham United FC v Spurs
We're playing Cole up front????
So much for the new attacking era
No wonder Sheringham's only doing the attacking coach bit on a part time basis...
fupp me, I'd rather play the kid from the U-18's who's been banging 'em in in pre-season...

Re: West ham United FC v Spurs
where is everybody?
if I can get it together in bunfuck west virginia...
laptop is getting no service so having to watchcthe game on my phone...
spuds were up 75/25 in possession...
Carlton Cole typically lead footed...
Kayoute looks very decent and hungry...
then we step up the possession and are all over Spuds...
culminating in a handball in the area... Kyle Naughton gets sent off and Noble slides the penalty wide of the post...
fupping gilt edged oppo pissed away...
so it's 11 against 10...

Re: West ham United FC v Spurs
Vaz Te's looking ok
Downing is playing well...
We really should be and do need to be one up... giving Spuds the half without being behind might come back to nite us in the arse in the 2nd half...

Well imo we are def in control Noble is doing a good job in midfield as they all are , shame he missed the pen , have a feeling they will park the bus and try and catch us on the break COYI

Re: West ham United FC v Spurs
Sounds like we should be winning from what is being said on sky sports, but can't score (Oh what a surprise!). Maybe time to bring on the new boys to drive at spuds and keep them on the back foot.

he might not be world class but he's streets ahead of Cole... I'd rather we were playing Vaz and someone else.
I just never see us scoring with Cole up front... his shooting and distribution is appalling
Kouyate is our best player... which is nice to see
