    The New Look SAB

Post  Suzanne Claret on Mon Nov 24, 2014 11:34 pm

Dear Supporter Advisory Board applicant, (thats me)

Thank you for your application to become a member of the West Ham United Supporter Advisory Board.

The Club have been overwhelmed by the quality of the hundreds of applications we received. Each application was categorised by age group with any oversubscribed age groups decided by ballot, and we are delighted to confirm that your application has been successful and we therefore invite you to join the Supporter Advisory Board.

Your first meeting will be on Tuesday 9 December at 5.30pm in the Legends Lounge at the Boleyn Ground.

As part of that first gathering, we would like your help to launch the next stage of collating fan memories to help shape the Club’s plans for the final season at the Boleyn Ground.

We are working on a special commemorative kit paying tribute to the history and traditions established over the past century at our current home and now want to hear from our supporters about their favourite kits and what makes them so special.

We will be putting the call out far and wide but would like you, as the Club’s SAB, to help us kick things off.

With that in mind, we’d like you to bring along your favourite kit on the evening, or a photo of it, if you’ve not got it to hand. It might have been your first, maybe it is a shirt signed by a Club legend, or perhaps it reminds you of something poignant away from the football pitch.

Thank you once again for your support and we look forward to working with you at this incredibly exciting time for the Club.

Just thought you'd like to know...

I would like my abiding memory to be Carlton Cole's last game for West Ham... preferably this weekend's loss to Everton.

    Make it so Jiggsy

oh... and I also wanna come over to see a game in the final season to say my goodbyes to Upton Park... maybe even walk by me grandma's old house on Katherine Road too...

then to start new memories by watching a game at the OS when we move in there...

Nice one skinny burd !! FWIW I would like the home kit for our last season to be modelled along the lines of the one used in the 60's when "Sir" Bobby Moore was gracing the UP turf

The away kits got to be the sky blue with Claret hoops too.

No sponsor would be great, no manufacturer logo and a simple emblem, crossed hammers without the 'London' bollix. Cash in when the OS is our home by all means. One season plain and simple would look fantastic.

Oh and all players in black boots for that season.

And tickets for half a crown.

agree with going back to a 'classic' but simple strip with no corporate bollix on it... maybe even go right the way back to something based on the old Thames Ironworks colors.

Oh... and perhaps we might suggest another throwback idea... to the time when Jack Sullivan didn't know how to tweet about our club... that would be cool.

    Well Done Suzanne.

Can I suggest the old 1960 kit of sky blue with the two claret rings.

Great stuff Suz, you will represent us well. And yes I agree about a traditional shirt for next season. Maybe a small number 6 on there somewhere? or a liitle Upton park picture fashioned on the sleeve.

I made it on too. I'll be taking the 1958 shirt (Bobby Moore's first) as my preferred kit - claret shirt, blue sleeves, blue V-neck. Just two crossed claret hammers on a blue background in the shield. I wouldn't have thought the club would do a commemorative away kit seeing as we won't be wearing it at the Boleyn.

I prefer the round necked version myself
