    The UEFA Cup...

Post  alfiehammer on Sun 25 Jan 2015, 8:30 am

Been chatting to a guy who trains down the gym a lot, he is an Everton fan and he's really of the opinion the UEFA cup is a bit of a kiss of death. Not much financial rewards, lots of extra games without necessarily having the financial incentives for adding much to the squad meaning your squad gets stretched further leading to fatigue and more injuries.

Personally I still feel a UEFA cup run would be a big adventure, but its definitely a possible banana skin to a season should we get there...

It only becomes worthwhile after the group stage, but to get there is a real pain in terms of the number of games from very early in the season. I think its also unfair that teams that get dumped out of the Champions league drop straight into the knock out stages of this cup, especially now it has a place in the next seasons champions league.
