    Manager Stats

Post  Stevenage Dave on Fri 10 Apr 2015, 8:51 am

Discussion on Pards elsewhere and BFS all over the place made me want to check some stats.  Win ratios for our Post-War managers:

    Billy Bonds          (90-94)                  43.61
    Charlie Paynter (32-50)                  41.25
    Alan Pardew     (03-06)                   41.10
    Ted Fenton         (50-61)                  39.87
Alan Curb’ley     (06-08)                  39.44 (best stats in top flight only, i.e. not boosted by a promotion season))
John Lyall             (74-89)                 39.12 (and won cups)
    Allardicci              (11- ??)                38.51
    ‘arry Redknapp (94-01)                   37.00
    Lou Macari          (89-90)                  36.84
Ron Greenwood (61-74)                  35.07 (and won Cups)
    Avram Grant      (10-11)                  31.91*
    Glenn Rodent    (01-03)                  31.40
    Gianfranco Zola (08-10)                  28.75

Sir Trev was a Caretaker, of course, with 64.29%

*Avram Grant's record was boosted by cup runs - League Cup Semi-Final and FA Cup 6th Round.  His League Only win ratio is 18.92%

I see that he is linked to being our possible new manager in the Summer to replace Sam Allardyce , If true I think he would be a good choice for us personally - Knows what the premier league is about , Been successful in this country with Liverpool and Chelsea etc and I personally feel he would attract better players to the club then what Sam Allardyce would and I feel we would have more chance of getting into Europe under him

It may well be that it is all paper talk etc stirring things up etc but would you lot be happy if it was true and he did become our new manager
