West Ham United v Bournemouth
West Ham and Bournemouth meet in the league for the first time in more than 25 years as both sides look to recover from defeats on the second weekend of the season.
The Hammers' last league meeting with the Cherries - a Division Two clash at Upton Park in April 1990 - ended in a comprehensive 4-1 victory, and they'll be looking for a similar result as they look to bounce back from last weekend's 2-1 defeat to Leicester.
Bournemouth, meanwhile, will be hoping to finally get some points on the board after two defeats from their opening two games.
Eddie Howe was critical of referee Craig Pawson, who disallowed Tommy Elphick's early opener before allowing Christian Benteke's solitary goal at Anfield. Andre Marriner will oversee Saturday's fixture at Upton Park.
Team news
Goalkeeper Adrian begins a three-match suspension following his straight red card against Leicester, with Darren Randolph expected to deputise for the Spaniard.
Mauro Zarate (hamstring) has joined fellow strikers Enner Valencia (leg) and Andy Carroll (knee) in the treatment room, while midfielder Reece Oxford is a doubt after missing a few days' training this week due to a niggle.
Eddie Howe is expected to retain the same team which has so far lost its opening two league games.
Shaun MacDonald is available after the midfielder recovered from a toe injury, but Harry Arter and Christian Atsu remain unavailable with groin and back injuries respectively.
Stats
Bournemouth have not won any of their previous five competitive meetings with the Hammers (D2 L3).
The Cherries have given Premier League appearances to 10 different English players in their opening two games of 2015-16; more than any other side.
Bournemouth have lost their opening two games – only one of the six newly-promoted sides to lose their opening three games of a Premier League season has gone on to avoid relegation (Southampton in 2012-13).
Goalkeeper Adrian will miss this match for West Ham following his red card against Leicester – the Spaniard had started each of the last 58 league matches for the Hammers.
West Ham backup 'keeper Randolph has conceded 16 goals in his last three appearances against Bournemouth, including 12 in two games last term.
Merson's prediction
West Ham had a good start with the win against Arsenal but it's different when you are expected to win at home.
Bournemouth were free-flowing in the Championship but haven't scored any goals so far in the Premier League, so they need to fix that quickly.
I think they will score this weekend but won't get anything out of the game as West Ham will just nick it.

Re: West Ham United v Bournemouth
this is awful...
0-2
Bournemouth all over us...
defense is insanely awful...
Grade almost got another but Randolph actually pulled off a good save to keep us (as if we can be saved here)
the team is - I can't even begin to describe what I'm watching...
booed off the pitch

this is the quote form the BBC...
A really awful half for West Ham, who got worse and worse.
But Bournemouth are halfway to their first ever victory in the top flight of English football.
and they're not wrong...

bet Sullivan wishes he had an injury prone Charlie Austin in the team now!
We are so awful it's not true, unlikely to get better.
Another long season of misery ahead, fupp it I'm going to support Naaarwich

this is how the official West Twitter saw it...
45+4: At the end of a forgettable half of football, Mr Moss thankfully brings it to an end with a blow of his whistle... [0-2]

in complete west ham irony... Nolan and Randolph are our best players...
Nolan gets tripped in the box, Noble steps up... scores the pen...
1-2
Bournemouth playing spoilers now... milking a non-injury....
why is Nolan playing?

Re: West Ham United v Bournemouth
hotel internet is having a west ham-like mare so I'm behind on the game...
Kayoute is down having treatment
but he got us back in it... he and Sakho bullying the defense... and Koyoute slams it into the roof of the net from three yards out...
2-2
so there's no excuses now... we CANNOT LOSE THIS GAME
we have to go on and win...

we're 2-3 down....
oh shit...
I've just looked up at the TV and seen we're now 2-4 down
this is worse than anything we did under Allardyce...
we're heading back to Avram Grant territory....

We are down to 10 me again! jenkinson off and Wilson gets a hat trick. Mr Magoo scores his first goal since Syd King was manager and we are still doomed 3-4

Re: West Ham United v Bournemouth
Jenkinson gets sent off from a WEST HAM CORNER!!!!
we take the corner...
shot on goal
Bournemouth clear it... long, long ball out of defense... into our half...
Jenkinson makes the most poorly thought half-hearted attempt to volley it away but the Bourney player nips past him with the ball
Jenks tries to run after him... gets skinned then pulls him down in the box...
about as ridiculous as it sounds...
what a pathetic day... what a godawful performance...
can't wait to hear the excuses after this one...

Re: West Ham United v Bournemouth
Well all I have to say is the 1st half buggered us right up and I mean buggered , we was buggered all over the place , buggered in defence , buggered in midfield and buggered in our bugger . What the bloody hell was going on in defence 1 out of 3 was working , it was a bloody disgrace ..... good to come back to 2-2 early days in the 2nd but just did,nt push for the win ..... not happy

It was a bit difficult for Nolan to have been tripped up for the penalty seeing as he was replaced at half time !! Noble was trippedwesthamonkey wrote:

Well for those that were'nt there we are in serious trouble.
No commitment at the back. No talent in midfield. Nothing up front and no new players coming in to make a difference.
Bionic worries me.

Re: West Ham United v Bournemouth
When tony very kindly set me up with tickets to see Leicester, Bournemouth and Newcastle I must admit I had high hopes of 7-9 points. What I've seen so far, apart from a few good, short spells in both matches, has been an absolute shower of shite quite frankly.
The defence, coached by a former defender, that largely played together solidly last year look like a collection of non leaguers introduced to each other just before kick off. Jenks and cresswell were shocking today.
I can't really comment on shape or formation, I genuinely found it hard to identify one today. I can't imagine when sakhos next goal is coming from. Wether that's down to him or supply I don't know. Payet still looks a talent but u can see him throwing a French strop and pissing off soon.
The crowd was very negative and fed up at two nil. Booing the drinks break really shocked me.
Terrible. Just terrible.

my bad... the hotel internet was so bad I was behind on all updates and info...I was waiting on screen refreshes, looking at twitter and listening to updates from the telly while they showed Spuds/Leicester
but it's nice to see that with a performance like they put in today that that's all you got to comment on.
