Steve McClaren will be looking to avenge his last meeting with Slaven Bilic when Newcastle travel to West Ham on Monday Night Football.
Bilic was in charge of the Croatia side that won 3-2 at Wembley in 2007, ending McClaren's hopes of England qualifying for Euro 2008.
McClaren has yet to taste victory in the Premier League since moving to Newcastle, but the Magpies produced a spirited display with 10 men as they lost 1-0 to Arsenal, while they earned a point at Old Trafford a week earlier.

Two goals, clean sheet, three points. That'll do nicely! Sounded like the Barcodes only woke up in the last ten minutes - I await reports West Ham United FC V Newcastle 1626210847

we're up to 5th in the table... here's the highlights from the BBC...

Newcastle struggled in attack and have scored only two goals this season, the lowest tally in the league.
The defeat leaves Steve McClaren without a league win since taking over at St James' Park in the summer.

Sloppy in possession and unimaginative in attack, the visitors offered little to please the fans who made the long journey from the north east.

Traffic chaos in east London meant the Newcastle players had to walk the last mile to the stadium - and within eight minutes they were behind. West Ham United FC V Newcastle 1290824782

Victor Moses made his Hammers debut after joining on loan from Chelsea on transfer deadline day and his pace and direct running was a constant threat to the Newcastle defence.

Playing high up on the left wing, Moses was the outlet as the Hammers were able to soak up Newcastle's 61% possession before counter attacking in style.

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic: "We fully deserved the three points, we were better from the start and we scored at the right time.
"Newcastle put us under a bit of pressure as we were defending too deep. In the second half I was proud, because we were solid, good at keeping the ball and great at counter attacks.
"It is small proof we really did well in the transfer window. Payet is a player I wanted from the start.
"I have known him for a long time. He is one of those players who is not only a great player but he makes players around him better."

Newcastle manager Steve McClaren told BBC Sport: "Our platform has been being hard to beat and disciplined, but this was a wake-up call.
"I am not blaming the coach journey, you have to deal with that and we didn't deal with it very well.
"You need these games, they hurt like mad, but you need them to get the message across.
"This is a journey and it is two steps forward one step back, this was two or three steps back. Saturday is very important for us. Our final ball was poor."

What a fantastic (possible final) trip to the Boleyn

Meet up pre match with jiggles, the kiwi, tony, mark and Jean.

Newcastle first...they passed the ball about reasonable well, but backwards or sideways without any real penetration or inventiveness in the final third.

Randolph made a few good saves on the times he was needed. Dare I say it but I'd keep him in the team for now.

From where I sat, I mostly got to see Tomkin/ jenkinson at rb and then Moses/payet second half

Seen a lot of very good reviews about Moses online. I thought he was very good- direct, skilful, pacey...over ran it a few times, and got tangled a few times but overall, very effective. The flick over the defender and run that set up the goal was fantastic to see.

The crowd really took to him, has his own song already...do do do do...victor Moses. Was a loud couple of minutes where it was sung non stop as he came off then the lyrics switched to Carroll. Before started singing we only have one song.

The boys of 86 got a good reception. Frank mac got the biggest cheer I'd say.

Whole team played very well I thought. Saw a few criticisms that noble gave the ball away too much. Difficult to fully see from my angle.

    Songs:

how shit must you be, we're winning at home
We're West Ham and we play it on the floor (a popular one this year)
Slaven billic/ we are west hams claret and blue army
    Are you watching allardyce
Andy Carroll- he left coz your shit
    Ludek miklosko
DNB song and all the usual suspects

A really fantastic trip to Upton Park. Happy hammer here

Cheers Alfie and for the beer too x

A pleasure to meet up with Stew, our kiwi. A totally all round nice bloke. So glad the Hammers put on a show for him and us!

What a display of how football should be played. The game had everything from flicks, pinpoint passing, flair and style to passion, pace, team work and individual brilliance. A pleasure to witness again.

Well played to everyone associated with West Ham United.  More please. West Ham United FC V Newcastle 1518089606
