We might see Antonio get a run out at this rate.

His contribution to putting us where we are in the table has been massive and I fear a slide now. Difficult to see anyone stepping into the breach at anything like the same level. Never mind, it was nice while it lasted....I wonder where we will be when he comes back?

there's no conspiracies in life... but this is just about perfect timing for our "inevitable" impending slide down the table...

same as last year... 4th at Christmas... battling with relegation come season's end.

what was that old saying about west Ham and Christmas Decorations?

One of the worst pieces of football thuggery I have seen . Were we playing Stoke or Bolton?. Is there a possibility of retrespective action against McCarthy? Should have been a red card at the least! Maybe we could Sue Everton for loss of earnings if we slide down the table!

From the first whistle there was a systematic and probably pre-arranged assault on our flair players (mainly Moses and Payet) by the Everton players. Coleman, Barry, Funes Mori and, in particular, McCarthy went out of their way to hack down (and presumably hurt) these players. The inexperienced ref let too much go which just encouraged the Everton players to go in even harder. Having seen the "tackle" on Payet by McCarthy it could (and probably should) have been a red card. Was James Collins tackle on Ighala worse - and he got a red? That "tackle" left Payet ineffective for his remaining time on the pitch and has now ruled him out for 3 months. McCarthy has previous on many counts; the most high profile was a "tackle" that left Sergio Aguero sidelined. The man is a thug. Even Coleman's tackle on Valencia was over zealous to say the least

Martinez and Everton should be ashamed of themselves

Having said all of that it is now time for Slav to prove his mettle and for us to prove to the football world that we are not a one-man team. We have seen that we are nowhere near as effective up front without Sakho. Other players have to step up to the plate now. Presumably Lanzini will step into Payet's position? It must be time for Antonio to be given his chance with both Payet and Valencia set to be sidelined for a while? Zarate has to prove that he is more than a one-trick pony. His cameo on Saturday was selfish and poor

This sort of thing happened to us last season but we didn't have the squad to cope. We do now

    Onwards and upwards. COYI !!

If this happen last year I would of feared the worst but this year we have strength in depth so I`m not as concern as I would of been as we have players like Zarate, Antonio etc who can hopefully make Payet`s position their own , I think we will miss of course BUT I don't think we will see drop in results to much if I`m being honest
