Blackburn V West Ham United FC

Post  Admin on Fri 12 Feb 2016, 4:01 pm

Slaven Bilic is facing an injury crisis at West Ham ahead of the FA Cup fifth-round trip to Blackburn on Sunday.
Andy Carroll (adductor) and Enner Valencia (ankle) have joined Diafra Sakho (thigh) on the sidelines, leaving January signing Emmanuel Emenike as the only fit striker.
With James Tomkins (calf) and Joey O'Brien (hamstring) injured and Sam Byram cup-tied, winger Michail Antonio may have to fill in at right-back.
There will be a change in goal where Darren Randolph will deputise for Adrian, having been selected as West Ham's FA Cup goalkeeper.
Midfielder Manuel Lanzini is fit after a hamstring injury.
Blackburn will go into the game on the back of a 3-0 home victory over Fulham - their first win in nine Championship matches.
On-loan midfielder Jordi Gomez can play on Sunday as he did not feature in Sunderland's third-round defeat to Arsenal, but fellow on-loan Sunderland man Danny Graham is ineligible having played in the third-round.
    Paul Merson's prediction
Here we have another team that I fancy could go all the way. West Ham have earned the right to have a right good go at the cup because of their league position. They can't get into the top-four so they can rest players without worrying about the next league fixture. It was a big victory for the Hammers against Liverpool in the replay. Slaven Bilic likes the FA Cup and he has a good team on his hands. Away win.
PAUL PREDICTS: 0-3 [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
    Opta stats
West Ham won their last FA Cup meeting with Blackburn, 4-2 in the 4th round en route to the final in 2006.
Overall, they've met 10 times in the competition (including replays), Blackburn winning three to West Ham's two (5 draws). West Ham progressed via penalties from one of those draws.
Antonio scored twice in his last appearance against Blackburn Rovers, in a 3-3 draw with Nottingham Forest in the Championship last season.
West Ham have won just one of their last nine away games in all competitions, drawing four and losing four.

well the early start means I'm gonna DVR the game and watch it when I struggle out of bed sometime sunday morning...

Slav is putting a lot of stock in this compo, so I guess we can expect a pretty decent line-up.

hopefully we'll play better than we have in recent games... we need to get our momentum back if the last part of this season is going to mean anything.

Hopefully see Lanzini play some part today - Don`t we have until the end of next month to make his loan deal a permanent deal ?

Well happy with the result , apart from the first 15 min we creamed them ..... Taylor deserved to go awf and probably a few more yellows for the DNB,s .... Kouyate,s red was debatable imho , looking like that fucker took a bit of a double twist with a half pike .... time for Nobes to get a call up and wish we could take Payet into the Engerland squad . Well done West Ham

Both my boys are on their way back now and I'm glad we won well in the end.

Air was blue in my house when they scores, we just can't seem to get going early on but ended up winning well.

Man Poo away now so will just have to beat them.

woke up this morning and said to myself this should either be 5-1 or 5-2 in our favor to finish off a good week for me... so very happy to see the boys oblige.

good cup game... felt a bit queasy when they scored but also felt like we have it in us to deal with such things... and we did.

we'd have scored 7 if Emininke could learn the offside rule

Kayoute's red card was the wrong decision and we should easily get it reversed on appeal

Shrewsbury's going to be tough in the next round... but then if you're gonna win, you gotta beat the best.

First 20mins or so were not good but as soon as Moses scored I knew that that would be the turning point and we would go on to win the game , Payet again scoring to Superb goals yet again and good to see Emininke get first goals for us as well

Hopefully this Win will give us big confidence ready for the return of the Fat Twat Saturday , Hopefully we can smash Sunderland next weekend
