[*]West Ham are finalising a deal for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Havard Nordtveit.

[*]The Norway international, who spent three years at Arsenal and was captain of their reserves, has agreed a pre-contract and will officially join Slaven Bilic' s side in July.

[*]Nordtveit, 25, has impressed with his performances in the Bundesliga and Champions League this season.

[*]Monchengladbach wanted to extend his deal while Borussia Dortmund, Schalke and Atletico Madrid had made approaches but he was keen to return to the Premier League.
    [*]
He is highly regarded by Arsene Wenger who had considered a move also but Nordtveit wants a club where he has greater prospects of playing regularly.

    [*]
Meanwhile, Didider Deschamps says he remains open minded about a recall to the France national side for West Ham midfielder Dimitri Payet.

    [*]
'Dimitri has always been good with his club,' said Deschamps. 'That was already the case at Marseille.

    [*]
'For the national team, he made good entrances, he was good against Denmark, I do not forget that.'
Deschamps added: 'It is not necessarily because there is huge competition that I will not pick him. And it is not necessarily because of a media campaign that I will pick him.'

That tells me that it is unlikely we will be signing Alex Song on a permanent deal

He'll miss sitting on our bench for £140,000 a week.
