Can't be private any more Tone ......
Hi Ya Motty,
Thing is mate, even if you get to park in Westfield shopping centre car park (The closest), there is no getting away from the long walk to the stadium. Yeah, transport links may be better, but once you have to rely on ya own legs it's a b'stard!
I've discovered that the 339 bus actually goes right by the Aquatics centre, which is a ten minute walk to the stadium (down like a wembley way) and the shortest walk there is.
For 339 bus route see here - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I'd suggest that if you can find an area along this route that's known to you, park there and get the bus in. Will save ya little legs at the end if nothing else. You'll need an oyster card though. Fares £1.50 each way whatever distance. Closer you get to Stratford, maybe a cab wouldn't cost too much more.
Good luck hun, hope this helps. xxx
Unfortunately there are no meet up places close without paying a fiver a pint. The firm have decided to forget the before and meet up after. We went to the Railway Tavern yesterday which was about a mile walk from the stadium

Re: FAO Jiggs
Thank you, will be a novel experience havnt been on a bus for years as I'd have to drive four miles to the nearest bus stop up here!! Looks like a fair bit of walking and some climbing as I believe tbere are miles of stairs as well, how we suffer for our love of West Ham

Re: FAO Jiggs
I know plenty of people who parked in the Westfield Shopping Centre car park for the Domzale game Motty. Cost is about £6.50 for four hours

Cheers Tony, looks like ill try that. Was thinkingof driving to Ebbsfleet and getting train to Stratford parking there is £9,20 and train is another £16,so Westfield looks a good bet at £6.50. Not cheap going to footie these days

Re: FAO Jiggs
That what I am doing. Tip for you. Book parking online but put entry time as after 18:00. It is £1.50. Then turn up earlier. Did it last week by accident. It recognises your number plate and the barriers let you in. It let me out too !mottinghammer wrote:Cheers Tony, looks like ill try that.
