Man Utd vs West Ham 8/13/17

Not sure why no one else is posting... but here goes.

Don't get why Noble walks into the first team.

We're ten minutes into the 2nd half... Utd (the manchester one) put the ball in the net for the third time but it ruled off side.

Automatovicktowhatisname just headed over the bar...

But the basic story is this... no one really expected us to win... not away, not at old Trafford... what most of us were looking for was the performance... to see signs of a team playing and working together, evidence that we could perform against the 'big' teams and look to beat the 'smaller' ones.

    so 2-0 isn't such a surprise

but then neither is the manner...

we're under the cosh... almost all the time... having to defend and then being too tired to attack

but here we go... passing accuracy for us 65%

that's just not good enough... and it shows... we are losing because we keep giving the ball away when we should be attacking and putting THEM under pressure... Lukaku was unchallenged for his 2nd goal. A defender either side of him in the 6 yard box but he still headed cleanly without being challenged

Noble is off now - but why does it take 60 minutes of watching him do nothing to make that change?

true... it's only 1 game, few of us expected us t walk away with a point, let alone 3... but we're looking more ragged, more spread out, more devoid of ideas

so, nothing too good to write home about so far.

    and now it's 4-0

horrifying result... I was predicting 2-0 and hoping for a good performance - but this is getting embarrassing... bottom of the table after just 1 game

The bits on the radio (spent most of the afternoon on the M25!) said we were awful, nothing going forward and the defence at 6s and 7s, first 2 goals down to Zabaletta losing the ball, second no one appeared to be with our nemesis Lakakkoou when hehad a free header, then turned on radio 2 for sounds of the 70's as I couldnt stand it anymore!

and as we did so frequently last season... played a lone striker up front... yup... the system that proved it's a system we never get right... we did it again with spectacularly predictable results.

Man Utd had 6 shots on target and scored with 4 of them (they had 22 shots over all)

Next week against Soton is going to be crucial... primarily because we have to get the fupp off the bottom of the table before it starts to feel like home

Not the case Mod Plod. Obiang dawdled on the ball and got robbed by Matic for their first goal after Zaba had sprinted up the pitch to support him. Consequently he got caught hopelessly upfield. Not his fault at all

The second was from a set-piece Reid in front of Lukaku. Masuaku behind him, laughing and joking with him. Reid stood still, Masuaku made some feeble attempt to jump with Lukaku. Ultimately he had a free header

5 1/2 hours to drive from Epsom to Nr Fakenham, only 167 miles of which 130 were on motorways and duel carriageways, yeah great way to spend a Sunday afternoon

Still could of been worse, could have been at home watching us being giving a good kicking over!!
