I'll admit his form has improved as we have started winning games but before that a leader ? Colossus ? A bit over the top for me that.

Re: Winston Reid
good player, but not that good. He maybe better with Fonte alongside him, he is more of a leader

Re: Winston Reid
I Wonder if Bilic will stick with the 4-4-2 Formation now that we seem to be playing as a team unit now - I`d Like to see us stick with it against City Next Wednesday and Go with :
Randolph
Byram
Fonte
Reid
Cresswell
Fegoulie
Obiang
Fernandez*
Lanzini
Carroll
Antonio
*If Noble is fit then start him ahead of Fernandez.

I said the same thing to my son with regards to Noble/Fernandes but we decided to go with Fernandes younger legs
Id like to see us stick with 442 but once Kouyate comes back from Africa the two centre midfielders would have to be Kouyate and Obiang on current form. Will Slaven drop Mr West Ham to accommodate that though ?

Also, would it be Fegoulie who makes way for Snodgrass?Kray JR wrote:Arran H wrote:I Wonder if Bilic will stick with the 4-4-2 Formation now that we seem to be playing as a team unit now - I`d Like to see us stick with it against City Next Wednesday and Go with :

Bilic will remain loyal to Noble and Feghouli. Snodgrass will be on the bench against Citeh
Randolph
Byram
Fonte
Reid
Cresswell
Obiang
Noble
Antonio
Lanzini

Re: Winston Reid
Well if Sky Sports is to go by anything then Come the City game Snodgrass will be a Hammer as according them despite Boro and Burnley both having a bids accepted the player has chosen us over both Clubs.
I would imagine that If he joins by City Game he will most likely start on the bench and then start maybe against Southampton after.

Re: Winston Reid
Reid has signed a new six year contract
So that's Reid and Ogbonna tied to long term deals
They might actually be able to defend together by the time their contracts are up

I doubt it. One is a mute and one doesn't speak English too well. Both way too quiet; playing the "after you" or "both go for the same ball" game most weeks
One of the reasons Reid cited for wanting to stay is how laid back and easy going it is at the club. Says it all really. Players who used to join Man Utd under Fergie used to say how competitive it was and how you had to train at 100% and play even harder - and if you weren't cutting it you got dropped
We just say "we trained well", "all the boys get on really well". Slav says "I don't want to have a go at them"
Maybe these are just a few of the reasons we have been such a soft touch over the past year or so. Nobody digs anyone out or makes it clear that not marking, tracking, working etc is unacceptable
Laid back and easy going. A fantastic motto for a Premier League football club. NOT !

Re: Winston Reid
We still needed forwards though. Hundreds of forwards.
Sodimproving a very leaky defence that doesn't work as a unit, doesn't communicate within itself or the midfield in front of it.
Buy more forwards then play them alone up top. Little Pea has never scored a premium league goal outside the box which indicates he needs a partner

What happens to these players when they join us? Fonte was Southampton captain and they didn't want him to leave - fans included. He won a Euro 2016 winners medal with Portugal
What happened to Snodgrass? 10 goals for Hull last season before he joined us. He was Hulls best player and their fans were gutted when he left
My take is that they find a laid back, lax, friendly bunch of guys who are all mates. They do not find a group of hungry, driven, professionals who want to win and dig each other out when they are not doing their job. This, IMO, stems from having a nice, laid back manager and a coaching team who are not doing their job
So they relax knowing there is no consequence from the manager to playing badly. They are on big money and can just cruise through the season
Not good enough

Get Eat Sam back. Seriously, Nolan as Assistant.
They'll bollock then.

I've seen better defenders lower down the leagues who are used to earning their money.

Re: Winston Reid
Reids the best! Ship out Fonte urgently, he is bloody hopeless. Collins is old, but at least he puts in a decent effort. Ogbonna is a bit shaky as well, but better than Fonte.

Re: Winston Reid
We all know that Slav will be using the Reid injury as an excuse for our performance.
I keep reading we have players coming back from injury we will be alright.
Who ???? The only one who will probably help us defensively is Carroll from corners
