Stevenage Wife is visiting relatives, and having fulfilled my shopping duties at Tesco, I'm just having a swift jar in the town centre Wetherspoons when there's a big racket outside. A hundred or so folk in Lincoln City gear, clapping and singing as they flood the boozer. A couple of little gits standing near me are saying, "There's none of their boys here. We took the town". I almost spit out my beer laughing. I tap one of them on the shoulder and point out a few facts: a) It's 2017, not 1987 b) There are half a dozen boozers closer to the ground which contain more than shoppers c) If he wants to talk any louder, some of the local pensioners are pretty handy with their fists. He looks at my Thames Ironworks hoody. " West Ham?" I say yes and point to 20-odd big geezers in the corner "On their way to the Arsenal game. Well done on taking the town, though...". I'm easily amused
