team selection is what you'd expect.

everyone probably has their wn thoughts about the Carroll debacle...

looks like it's pissing down in East London

lots of congestion in midfield so far.. 8 minutes gone

Noble tries a volley from just outside the area...

didn't end in his 50th WHU goal...

nearly 5 mins of West Ham pressure... great ball in from Zabaleta to Arnie who forces a great save... another WHU corner

Obiang corner bobbles past the post

for the past 10 minutes, the ball has only been out of the Bournemouth half when we've passed it back... sustained WHU pressure

    very unusual but very welcome

all we need now are son goals...

Arsenal have scored 3 in 8 minutes... can we?

noble tries a shot that misses the end of the pitch...

    Arnie drags a shot wide....

20 minutes of almost non-stop WHU

but only 2 shots on target...

Bournemouth manage their 2nd stack... get a corner off Ginge...

getting to the point where you start worrying about too much pressure and no goals

which is worrying but also kinda nice that we're taking about sustained WHU pressure...

3 mins to go... we've fallen off a bit.... Bournemouth getting more of a foothold....

could go in 0-0 which would not be a fair reflection of the half and not what we want

we need a goal to make this count

    yup 0-0

good football but with no goal it's too close and way closer than it should be

we need the points... we need the win

bunch of balls going in but still nothing to show on the scoresheet...

    Bournemouth almost get a breakaway...

For all the positives and good play, we really need to put some distance between us with a goal...

    free kick to WHU

another WHU attack... Arnie ends up tripping over his own feet in the 6 yard box

    an hour gone

hope we don't give one away

great... no goals and now Lanzini is going off injured...

Chicharito comes on to replace him

looks like it could be a tweaked hammy.... that might take him out for a while

    64 minutes...

now Kouyate is injured... could be worse... there's been a double leg break up at Everton...

    he's back on and playing...

20 minutes to go and guess what...

    Bournemouth score...

and a minute later Chicharito scores...

we wee in the middle of watching the replays of the Bournemouth gol...

literally three touches from the restart and we're back level...

    9 minutes to go...

Stanislas has really turned Bournemouth up a gear...

    free kick to WHU

    other results aren't helping..

we need 3 points, not 1

Cresswell pulls up... looks like another hammy...

2 minutes to go plus whatever injury time we get.

this needs(ed) to be 3 points... especially with the injuries

still trying to figure out the Cresswell injury... he's now limping off with assistance...

Byram coming on to replace him

    that took 3 minutes...

    we

    need

    a

    goal!!!!!!

5 mins of added time... we're already at 93 mins...

ugh... a 1-1 is not good.

and these last few minutes are all Bournemouth

we should have put them away when we had all the chances in the first half

funny old game... possession means nothing if you don't do anything with it

    and there ya go...

I know we gain a point but it still feels like a loss of 2

    should have had this one...

we're still only 3 points from the drop zone no matter what actual position we are in the table...

if Newcastle beat Man City they could go ahead of us (fortunately there's zero chance of that happening... right?)

    well fortunately Newcastle didn't win...

so we're 11th in the table behind Watford on goal difference and 2 points behind Everton in 9th

we're also only 3 points above the relegation zone, that's right, 3 points is the spread from 11th to 17th

now, if by some quirk of fate, Southampton are to beat the Spuds tomorrow... that would put them on 24 points... which would mean we'd only be 3 points from actually being IN the relegation zone...

so you see how important goal difference becomes and how crucial the difference between 1 point and 3 points is and will be for the remainder of the season

of course, there's no way Soton will win tomorrow... is there?

but we really do need to be beating teams like Bournemouth... especially because they're right around us in the table...

anyway... good chat... same time next week?

I'm here monkey, and read your posts during the game. A lot of the others seem to live on fb these days, I tend to not go on there much. I'd prefer to chat about West Ham on here. You've hit the nail on the head, if we beat the teams around us we can move away from the bottom. Yesterday was two points lost not one gained. This year other than the big six, everyone could get pulled into the relegation issue. Getting good results against cheats, le arse and spuds is all well and good but only if we beat the Bournemouth's of  the world as well.
