twitter is the place for biting footie commentary...

"Just having Andy carroll on the pitch makes us look such an ugly team... So scrappy.. Him demanding every ball is crossed for him cos all he can do is possibly head the ball. Bit of a shame."

ugh... ball pinging about from a corner... eventually gets to diangana but it hits him from behind and goes out before he can figure out where the ball is...

    we need a goal...

Antonio has a go from distance but drags the shot wide...

If it weren't for Arie's goal, we'd be shitting bricks about now...

72 minutes gone and there ain't much to shout about...

Xande Silva has a shot go just over the bar...

oooh... here's what we've been missing...

Anderson is about to come on...

The lack of a #10 has been very noticeable since Nasri went off (no disrespect to Snoddy)

Brum are on a series of offensive moves - another corner which Carroll gets to first... it's a shame that he's so much better in defense than he is up front...

shoddy and antonio get the ball.. antonio runs so fast he even outpaces himself and ends up stumbling over the ball.

it's Xande Silva making way for Anderson...

decent debut from the kid... hope to see more of him

Anderson loops a ball into the box.. Carroll falls over backwards trying to get it... Snoddy princes on the lose ball but when trying to cut inside, Carroll gets up and nicks the ball and hoofs it over the bar...

Pretty much sums up Carroll's contribution to the game (this one and football in general)

while I'm being snarky... Brum get in behind us again and Adrian gets down swiftly to smother the near post shot but gets injured for his trouble...

    85 minutes gone...

5 minutes or so to hang onto what is looking to be a more and more slender lead and a more and more vital goal by Arnautovic...

Carroll gets on a long ball... trades passes with Anderson then runs in on the keeper but overstretches and fluffs the whole thing...

    and there you have it...

    goal at the start...

    goal at the death...

    some good bits in between...

some not so good bits in between

    Nasri looks good

    Xande Silva looks good

    Adrien looked dodgy

The defense alternated between solid and dodgy...

but we cleared the hurdle... got the win... let's take that into the 'prep and pick up some more points please.

I'm back off to bed here... it's 6:30 on a saturday morning...

Thanks for listening to me ranmbling nonsense

Was at the game. I thought we were alright but I thought we let Birmingham back into the game abit at stages and just how Carroll missed that chance with the clear open goal I do not know... If he hadn`t had scored that goal after he would of been in for some shit.
Thought Nasri looked very good and can only get better as he plays more games. Diaganna and Silva were both good aswell as was Rice.

couldn't agree more... it's very heartening to see the youngsters both getting games and doing well when they do.

Yeah,To be honest Towards the end I thought Diaganna and Silva started to link up quite well. Rice just gets better everytime he plays. The future is bright at the moment. Maybe the fact that Pellegrini has made the U21`s train next to the first team has helped the young players settle into the 1st team/squad.
