well this has become one of those 'must win' games thanks to today's results.

we're now level on points with the two teams below us, which means only the bottom team currently has less points than e do.

Goal Difference is all that's keeping us afloat.

Even if we win our two games (this one and the game in hand against Liverpool) we'd only climb as high as 14th... and that's IF we beat Leicester away and beat Liverpool who haven't lost a game n over a year.

So yeah... our pitch is pretty dire

    Team News...

    jeez... really?

Anderson is out - for a month (not sure how much we miss him as he's been pretty pants since he arrived here)

Yarmalenko is out till mid February (huh? when did this happen?)

Antonio is out - thigh problem (what happened at Christmas Anty???)

so that's what we got... or at least what we don't got...

    Here's the stats...

Leicester have lost just one of their past 10 Premier League games against West Ham (W5, D4), a 2-0 home defeat in May 2018.

West Ham have won only twice in 10 Premier League away meetings (D4, L4).

West Ham have won once in five Premier League matches (D1, L3).

They have triumphed just three times in nine league games when going ahead (D3, L3), dropping 15 points across those matches.

The Hammers have dropped 17 points from winning positions this season, a least three more than any other team.

This will be David Moyes' 50th Premier League away game against a top-four team. He's won just one of the previous 49 (D15, L33), a 2-1 victory with Everton at third-placed Manchester City in 2010.

West Ham have won only three of their 14 Premier League away fixtures under Moyes (D3, L8).

West Ham have used four starting goalkeepers in the Premier League for the first time since 1999-00.

Darren Randolph has kept only one clean sheet in 15 Premier League away appearances.

Sebastien Haller scored with three of his first seven shots in the Premier League but has been successful with just three of his subsequent 40 attempts.

The highlighted one is my favorite... yeah... that's the kind of track record I'd want in a manager... fupp yeah!

    Here's the table going in...

    14 -- Burnley - - 23 -12 27
    15 -- Brighton - 24 -7 25
    16 -- Aston Villa - 24 -14 25
    17 -- West Ham - 22 -8 23
    18 - Bournemouth - 24 -14 23
    19 - Watford - 24 -15 23
    20 -- Norwich - 23 -22 17

yeah... beat Leicester and then beat Liverpool and we'd replace Burnley... that's it... beat two of the top teams in the country and the best it would do is lift us to the lofty heights of 14th and we'd still only be 6 points from 2nd from bottom.

If anyone wonders what a relegation dogfight might look like... this is it.

okay... so Antonio is fit enough to be on the bench... he will definitely play today... the starting XI isn't strong enough to see out the game

    Randolph in goal...

    5 at the back...

    Zabaleta, Ogbonna, Diop, Cresswell, Masuaku

    Terrible midfield

    Snodgrass, Rice, Noble

    Weak Front line

    Lanzini, Haller

    Sub are:

Reid, Balbuena, C Sánchez, Fornals, Martin, Ajeti, Antonio

so... get Lanzini off, replace with Fornals and drop hem back to midfield with Antonio up front with Haller

    all Leicester at the moment...

our midfield will be cut to shreds...

Masuaku is playing high, so the back 5 doesn't hold fast...

even with 5 at the back, the covering is clearly not working and too many Leicester players have too much space and they cut through us too easily to then end with a weak shot straight at Randolph.

7 players at the back and the only reason we get away with it is that Leicester get ahead of themselves and are offside...

all starts with a Foxes play to form the back... Noble stands way off his man in midfield so Leicester get and easy, uncontested run down the other flag to cross where they went offside...

but as always... you defend from the front and if Noble and Rica can't or won't do their jobs then this will be a long night.

    1st corner to Leicester...

Leicester easily get behind Diop but the cross is very weak

we're playing a rotating 5-8 at the back... no shape, no cover... just a bunch of players running or standing around as they feel like...

so it's all Leicester at the moment...

8 at the back for West Ham... foxes get to run the ball uncontested all the way from one end of the pitch to the other...

    and there you go...

the Leicester fans are yelling 'shoot' every time their players get the ball...

but the ball is in the back of the net...

6 players on the edge of the penalty area but Liecesrt still cut through us, play the ball out to the right and a shot cuts across goal past Randolph

    VAR is not used...

half way through the first half and we are 0-1 down.

    24'
Goal! Leicester City 1, West Ham United 0. Harvey Barnes (Leicester City) left footed shot from very close range to the bottom right corner. Assisted by Ricardo Pereira.

    24 mins:
The goal stands! Pereira bursts into the penalty area and hits a cross-shot that would have gone wide had Barnes not thundered in to smash it home from half a yard. Happily the six-yard line made it abundantly clear with a simple freeze-frame that Barnes was behind the ball when Pereira hit it, so all’s good.

and in case you though things couldn't get worse... Snodgrass has dropped to the ground and is awaiting treatment...

27 mins: The physio is on, and Snodgrass is grimacing and pointing to his left knee. On the bench, Pablo Fornals strips off.

31 mins: West Ham win a corner. Snodgrass, who has miraculously recovered, hits it, and Schmeichel catches it.

    Here's the view from Twitter....

"There isn’t a single west ham player out there tonight that I feel could win the game for us.. they’re as average as you can get. It looks like an over 35s Sunday league team with a few of their sons running around out there. Pathetic #COYI #LEIWHU"

"Disappointing that Snodgrass is going off, hoping it isn’t too bad... but at least Fornals is coming on #LEIWHU"

"Honestly Moyes, Sullivan, Gold, Brady can all fupp off. We are going down. Leicester been shit for last 6 league games and we can’t even lay a glove on them.
We’ve lost our stadium to a bunch of charlatans. Can see us ending up like Forest, Sheff Wed and Coventry #LEIWHU"

"We're offering no threat at all, championship 20/21 incoming #LEIWHU"

"As well as new owners, West Ham need an overhaul of their squad - their defence is rubbish, their midfield is painfully average and their attackers don't score enough goals. The club has been managed terribly. #LEIWHU"

ball played into the Liecester box... Haller heads it... to absolutely no one... into an empty area of the box...

a complete fusion of a lack of options and a lack of understanding, vision, ability...

the only 'good' thing to come from it is that Vardy hooked the ball clear and immediately pulls up with a hamstring injury... not wishing ill on another player... but we need all and any help we can get...

the team is just not good enough to win anything or really even compete at any level or in any position...

so Vardy looks okay... he is able to run off the pitch (per the rules) and comes back on.
