    I wouldn't want Pardew back.

Can anyone really see us getting rid of Sam ?

It would appear that being in the Premier League is the be all and end all when it comes to our club no matter how bad the football.

wouldn't want any of our old managers back whether I liked them at the time or not.

can't understand the people who think Moyes is the answers

why would anyone want a shit manager who was sacked for being shit?

motes achieved nothing at everton apart form keeping them bobbling along in the bottom half of the prem.

he was a bad choice for ManUre would be a bad choice for us - just look how much better everton are since he left.

agreed... but this came hot on the heels of a twatty posting on Facebook saying we should get Moyes in and the responses were about 80% in favor of sacking BFSA immediately and installing Moyes as West Ham manager...

Just makes me crazy how people think someone (and it's not just Moyes, it's every time someone gets the old tin tack) that a bloke sacked for failing at his job is suddenly the ideal candidate for that job at our place.

I would have Alan Pardew back in a heartbeat, I've said so since the day he was forced to leave.  I said so after we sacked Curbishley, Zola and Grant.

He sorted out what Roeder had left behind, which was a damn sight more than what Grant left for Allerdyce.  He got us to 2 play off finals in consecutive years, the FA cup final the following year and European qualification.

Admittedly he was on a losing streak when he left, but wasn't sacked for that.  If not for his faux pas, I believe he would still be here, and we would be playing decent football and sitting comfortably in the top half of the table.

Finally, he has a great arse, with a lovely wiggle and more passion in his little finger than the fat one has in his entire mass !

I've said this before, I will say this again I'm sure. Every sodding manager out there has had the sack at some point (except maybe pep). Real Madrid once sacked a manager for only winning the league. Just because moyes didn't achieve all the billion board man empire set out for him to achieve still doesn't make him a shit manager for a mid table team.

I really do think Moyes would suit us , He knows how do good business in the transfer market on a crap budget as proved at Everton and he got them top 8/9 nearly every season he was in charge even got them into the champions league in one season !

They also sacked Vicente del Bosque (current Spain manager) after he won the Champions League because the style of football was not the "Real Madrid way" !! His record in the 3.5 years he was there? 2 x La Liga, 1 x Supercopa  de Espana, 1 x UEFA Super Cup, 1 x Intercontinental Cup and TWO Champions Leagues. Yep - they sacked him !!

Moyes didn't win anything at Everton!!!!!

Regardless of how totally inept he proved himself at ManUre, people seem to forget that as Everton boss he did pretty much nothing at all apart from watch a teenage Rooney get whisked away to a bigger and better club and keep the toffees bobbling along somewhere in mid table and every season either start well and fall off in the 2nd half, or more usually start completely appallingly and then have to rescue the season.

None of that is really the traits you'd look for in a manager you'd want at your club.

And for all those decrying the state of our play and the loss of the beautiful game (although I'd love to know what they're smoking)... you really think it'd be better under Moyes?
He has some of the top talent at ManUre and they're playing more negatively than we do.
And everyone talking about the creative, flowing football that Everton played... oh yeah... they're talking about this past season with a new Manager after Moyes left them.

Moyes is a negative/defensive manager... he'd barely get through his first game in charge before all the bitches complaining about BFSA's 'hoof and hope' tactics were at it again.

Yes, manager's get binned for the stupidest things these days so the stigma of the 'sack' doesn't carry the weight it once did... but you also have to look at the bloke himself and the job he did... Laudrup probably didn't deserve to get booted from Swansea but they weren't exactly top of the table when he did get made to walk the plank.

Have Pardew back? Sure, if you're one of the ladies who wants to ride Pardew express on the weekend... but despite him being one of our 'better' managers in recent years (and god knows, the quality threshold isn't high) what has he done at Newcastle?

They're in a right old shite state, fan discontent and only 6 or so points above us... and most of those were won before Xmas because they're crappier than us on the park these days.

    Pardew isn't the answer.

    Moyes isn't the answer.

BFSA maybe isn't the answer... but he's the manager now. He got us promoted from the Championship at the first try (something we've never done in our history). It looks like he'll keeps in the premiership this season (although only by the skin of his teeth) - yes, many of those performances have been abject displays that bring back nightmares of Curbishley and Grant... but (and a lot of people ignore or refuse to acknowledge this) there's also been some glimpses of decent flowing football, battling performances and some decent goals.

So... unless the (almost) impossible happens and we get relegated this season... we see what happens during the summer and next year.
If it's the same season long struggle against relegation with humiliating exits from all the cup competitions then we'll know that Sam has taken the team, or the club have gone, as far as we can go.
Whether you love him or hate him, he's the fourth most successful (permanent) manager in our history (and even our most successful - good old Billy Bonzo - didn't manage a win percentage of even 44%.

If things turn around then maybe this has been a period of riding out the injury list and sorting the wheat from the chaff to get us in shape to move forward.

No one likes waiting for good things to happen... especially when there's the possibility that those good things might not actually come to pass.

But Moyes or Pardew as our manager... do me a favor.

I don't ever expect to see west ham win trophies. The occasional chance of an intertoto cup/ FA cup final per decade is enough for me.

And I think that's got a lot harder in the last decade or so with the amount of money pouring into the game. When crap clubs like man city, Monaco etc can go from dross to winning championships (city) or buying Falcao when just promoted from the second tier.

I'm not crying out for moyes, but I do think he's a good manager and one bad season at a club that was beyond him with an unbelievable expectation level doesn't seem to bad.

How many times has big Sam been sacked by the way? Newcastle and Blackburn deffo got rid. I just think with the merry go round that is modern football to write off a manager for the crime of being sacked is mostly like writing off a manger for breathing. Tony backed my point up nicely.

Another example would be roberto di Matteo, who gave those classless blue scum ears there first European cup and got sacked 5-6 months later. Stupid in the extreme.

I think if u want me to tell you what was so great about moyes, it was his ability to find players like jaguelka, who in watched a lot at the blades and turned them into very decent players. Others include the very very good baines, Coleman, arteta, lescot Fellaini (who has had a shite season for Man U, but then they all have). All players he bought for peanuts really and sold on for huge, huge profits or keep hold of to form the backbone of his consistently good sides (and respected internationals). And he's attracted some very good players on loan like Barry and lakuku. Players who if we would have got would have really added a lot to our season.

That's my thoughts, and I will now stop singing moyes praises as he ain't that mustard but last year excepted, a very decent manager.

Think you're doing Moyes a disservice with that quote westhamonkey. These are Everton's finishes under Moyes:

    2002/03 - 7th
    2003/04 - 17th
    2004/05 - 4th
    2005/06 - 11th

    2010/11 - 7th
    2011/12 - 7th
    2012/13 - 6th

Hardly "bobbling along in the bottom half of the prem". And not bad, given the allocated funds etc either. Not that I'm cheerleading him for West Ham but I just think your comments on his time at Everton may need revisiting.

    facts.... yeah...

you might want to look at Everton's half season results...

By Christmas they were in dire trouble... he seemed to pull them out in the second half of the season - trust me, I have a friend who's a Toffees fan and there was never a season of consistency.

And out of those seasons what did they win?

    Oh yeah... nothing.

Did they play brilliant free flowing football that the blinkered idiots seem to think is what we're missing?

    No.

Moyes wouldn't have been a better fit for West Ham than BFSA is even before he went to ManUre.

I just don't get people's insistence that because he's been sacked by ManUre that we should suddenly ditch our manager and sign him up.

A club like Everton or Newcastle or maybe West Ham IS Moyes level... but the thing is... we don't WANT to be that club.. we want to be better, bigger.
We don't currently have the players to be that club... Currently we probably don't have the Manager to do that... we might not even have the Owners to do that... but in two years were going to be without a home base asset and a huge stadium that will need filling with bums on seats.

The only patently obvious FACT in all of that is that Moyes is most definitely NOT the man to take us where we need to go.
