It's 70 years to the day since Hammers legend Bobby Moore was born.
The former West Ham and England captain was born in Barking on April 12th 1941. In order to celebrate the life of the only Englishman ever to lift the World Cup, Dr Phil Stevens* will be giving an illustrated talk on Moore's life in a special one-off event in Barking next week.
The talk - entitled 'Bobby Moore 1941-1993: Peerless Prince of Football' - will take place at the Eastbury Manor House, Eastbury Square, Barking next Wednesday, 20th April (7:30pm start).
Places are free of charge but limited, so those wishing to attend are advised to book by calling 0208 724 1002.
* Dr Phil Stevens is the author of 'Sporting Heroes of East London and Essex 1960-2000: Bobby Moore and Graham Gooch'. The evening will also see the launch of an exhibition of photographs of Moore's early days in Barking.
