West Ham United can confirm that Sam Baldock has joined npower Championship club Bristol City.

The 23-year-old striker has linked up with the Robins on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
Baldock, who joined the Hammers from MK Dons in August 2011 and made a total of 22 first-team appearances and scored five goals for the club, has thanked West Ham fans for their support during his year-long stay at the Boleyn Ground.
"I would like to thank the fans for always supporting and encouraging me," he said. "The fans are what make the club so special and are the driving force behind its success.
"There are some really great people involved in the football club who I wish every success for, and I also wish the team every success in the future."
West Ham United would like to thank Sam for his efforts and wish him well for the future.

Good luck to him. Shame we couldn't just loan him out for a season. He is a good striker. We will not find out if he was good enough for the Premiership. He just didn't fit the system that we play

Gutted, I would have liked to have seen more of him, But he's not lanky and built like a brick shit house is he......he had no chance

Console yourself with the thought that there's no chance of Mini Judas ever coming back under BFS.

There will be when Sam is sacked by Christmas and Dirty 'Arry is bought in!

Also think Sam Baldock has been well shafted, a good player who could well come back and haunt us in the future, and ist not like we have a stream of great goalscores at the club! 5 in 22 (most from the bench) is not a bad return. I Wish him luck for the future, except when he palys against us

Jiggs, I totally concur, I thought his comments re the fans and the club were very dignified in the circumstances.

There just has to be something more to this, because on the surface its looks like a bloody stupid idea to sell him.

Can only say he has been sold to fund something else. Sam and Dave's bought him so not as if they were dealing with someone else's mistake. Odd he was bought as would never match Sam's system. Good luck to him all the same though.

anyway... seems weird to have bought him and sold him in such a short timespan... especially when he was the one bright spark in an otherwise crappy pre-season.

And he scores on his debut for Bristol City. I really hope his selling was only to fund further activity-Jarvis maybe. Just a shame he never got a chance to stay and go out on loan. We must have needed the cash.
