Odious Hearn at it again - more toys out of the pram Empty Odious Hearn at it again - more toys out of the pram

Barry Hearn has changed his mind yet again about the future of the Olympic Stadium and has decided to fight on if, as expected, the forthcoming Judicial Review into the award proceedings goes against him.

Hearn’s latest of many U-turns appears to have been prompted by an overheard conversation between Hammers fans debating on who should be honoured by statues in the remodelled Olympic Park.

Hearn said: "They were discussing statues to Bobby Moore, Billy Bonds and the like and that annoyed me.

"With the entrance to the park only a few inches away from the Matchroom Stadium [Brisbane Road – Ed] I thought there ought to be some representation of some of the greats from Leyton/Clapton history. Like Laurie Cunningham. And that other guy."

And now Hearn’s tactics to prevent West Ham United taking over the stadium appear to have hit a new low.

"We’ll need funds to keep going if the Judicial Review goes against us," Hearn announced. "So we’ll be releasing a re-recorded version of "Snooker Loopy" called "Olympic Loopy" as a fund-raising single.

"Chas & Dave are working on the revised lyrics and we’ve already got agreement from Sean Bean, Piers Morgan and some of the cast of "The Only Way Is Essex" to appear on it once the backing tracks are ready.

"With such a cast of much-loved celebrities on board our cause will receive massive publicity and a multi-platinum selling single will raise enough for us to keep the argument alive for another year or two."

A club spokesman for West Ham United was suitably unimpressed with the announcement. "I didn’t buy the last one and we won’t be letting Jeremy [Nicholas] play it before matches, that’s for sure."

cheesey grin The man is such a twat I almost double-checked that it wasn't true.

Anyway, at least he has kept everyone amused while the OS negotiations dragged on and on. His increasingly desperate attempts to get someone to pay him off have cheered me up no end - I wonder how long his lawyers will have to wait for their bill to be paid.... Laughing

Leyton Orient chairman Barry Hearn is refusing to give up their fight over the Olympic Stadium tenancy.

In March, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

However, Hearn wants League One Orient [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and is seeking a judicial review of the bidding process.

"We're going nowhere. We've made our point and we've paid our lawyers," he told [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

"The oral submission application has been put forward, now we're waiting for justice but don't expect any movement until September."

Hearn has claimed West Ham's move to a stadium that is just three miles from the O's Brisbane Road ground would seriously harm their attendances.

Orient, who had an average league gate of 3,947 last season, recently announced [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] in an effort to secure a new generation of supporters.

Just to clarify, I have nothing against Leyton Orient and nothing against their fans. They are a decent little club with a bit of history. They just have the misfortune to now be owned by a complete twat who is trying to screw some money out of someone - anyone will do - because the Olympic Stadium has been built just down the road. Hearn is not content that the value of the Orient site will have gone up, he is determined to screw some "compo" out of someone as well. His grounds for this are laughable. The only way he would lose the O's core support might be if was a lot cheaper to watch the Irons in the OS, and that certainly ain't going to be the case! There is an argument that the improved travel connections for the OS site actually work for Orient and enable them to pull in support from a wider area when they play. I would imagine that Hearn's first plan was to get Orient into the OS alongside whichever PL club got it ( whether the O's fans liked it or not), then he could close Brisbane Road and sell the site for redevelopment in an increasingly up-market area. That didn't work, probably because he is so odious that no-one wants to work alongside him, so he is left with desperately chasing some "compo". His lawyers must be happy -  long as their bills are getting paid, that is.

Remember the amount of knock backs Sheffscum had before they found one that worked? Hearnia is being the aggravating little twat he is, in the hope that he will find some doddering, gullible, senile old twat of a judge, to award him the compensation that he craves. As West Ham Utd FC will be the biggest earners from this deal, the biggest concern would be that we'd have to pay it!
