    Barclays Premier League

Venue: Upton ParkDate: Saturday, 4 May

    TEAM NEWS

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has no fresh injury concerns as he welcomes former club Newcastle to Upton Park.

Defenders James Tomkins (calf) and George McCartney (knee) are again likely to miss out but Mark Noble and Joe Cole are pushing to start.

Newcastle full-back Mathieu Debuchy misses out through suspension.

Left-back Massadio Haidara has a hamstring injury, although skipper Fabricio Coloccini could return from a long-term back problem.

    MATCH PREVIEW

It's been a traumatic week on Tyneside. That 6-0 drubbing by Liverpool, hot-on-the-heels of the Sunderland surrender, has been difficult to digest. Tempers have reached boiling point, fingers have been pointed, accusations of divisive splits in the camp strongly denied by the club.

    MATCH FACTS
    Head-to-head

•Newcastle have won on three of their last five visits to Upton Park, losing just once.
•West Ham beat Newcastle 8-1 at Upton Park in April 1986 as centre-half Alvin Martin scored a hat-trick - against three different goalkeepers, one of whom was Peter Beardsley.
•Overall, the clubs have met on 122 occasions. West Ham have won 38 of those matches; Newcastle have won 49.

    West Ham

•The Hammers have only been beaten once in the Premier League at Upton Park in 2013 - a 3-2 loss to Spurs in late February.
•Andy Carroll has been involved in eight of West Ham's last 14 Premier League goals (six goals, two assists).
•West Ham goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen has made a league-high 155 saves this season.

    Newcastle

•The Magpies have the second-worst away record in the Premier League. They have only won one match on the road: at the same stage last season, they had won seven away from home.
•This time last year Newcastle were fifth in the Premier League. They go into this match sitting 17th.
•In losing 6-0 to Liverpool last weekend, Newcastle suffered their heaviest home defeat since 1925.
•They have only scored three goals in their last six Premier League matches.

    LAWRO'S PREDICTION

    Will Carroll be singing again?

West Ham United v Newcastle _67387564_67387439

"I remember Hammers striker Andy Carroll having a nightmare when he went back to St James' Park for the first time following his £35m move from Newcastle to Liverpool.

"Carroll was booked for diving, missed a good chance and was booed throughout.

"He had a bad day against his old club but he is playing well and scoring goals now and I can see him having a much happier time of things on Saturday. Newcastle might not enjoy it so much, though."

Newcastle have absolutely fallen apart and their season cannot finish quickly enough.

I think they already have enough points to stay up because, as I say above, Wigan have left themselves too much to do, but that does not hide the fact the last few games have been embarrassing for Alan Pardew's side.

Losing at home to Sunderland was massive because it was a derby and everything that entails. But losing to Liverpool was even worse because the Magpies were completely abject, particularly in the first half hour.

Pardew's biggest worry will not be that they got thrashed 6 - 0 but that they did not put up a fight. It was the same at the end when all the Magpies players seemed to be doing was trying to keep the scoreline down to six. It was a very odd occasion.

Things will not get any easier for Newcastle against West Ham, who will throw absolutely everything at them.

    Prediction: 2-0

Hmmm, that didn't sound very interesting.....and a scoreless draw means we'll be last on MOTD again. I was expecting better.

Newcastle were always gonna be tight today after the battering they got last week. Went for a draw but thought there would be goals.

If Blunderland can win tomorrow, that will put Barcodes right in it, 3 points ahead of Wigan who have a game in hand and better goal difference. Smile

Well that was a steaming pile of "end of season" shite today. The back four (except Jussi - who nearly cost us two goals by rushing off his line and then stopping !) were excellent, Andy Carroll tried hard with no success. The rest of them were awful

How many passes did we play that were too short and got intercepted ??? Shocking stuff but a point is a point I suppose.

To make it worse we had to watch Phil Dowd strutting around, over acting with every decision, constantly talking to the managers and trying to have a laugh with the players....get on with it and ref you annoying prick.

I`am really pleased with yesterday`s result as Newcastle tho they are near the bottem they have a very good squad but it was boreing but at least it`s another clean sheet and Point and we are now on 43pts ... in fact was the last team we reached 43 points in the prem was under Pardew when we finished 9th ????

Surely now BFS will sign his contract as we will not be going down this in fact if we do then we will have broken our own record of going down with 42pts jawdrop
