"We've already said to Pogatetz thanks very much, he's been a fantastic professional but it won't be extended, and we'll decide on the others after the game."

So is Carlton Cole but some would offer him a new deal.

Noble to go but O'Neal to stay.
Tomkins could be a question mark.

I hope you're wrong about Noble and I assume you're joking about Tomkins...

Just thinking, i would really like a creative midfielder, Someone with that flair to ignite things. Noble is a fine player, but we need that little extra. Any thoughts on who might fit the bill.

I don't have a problem with that as I suspect most wouldn't. Nice bloke but for £30k a week even I could manage to be a nice bloke.
He is not good enough simply-and certainly not mobile enough for Sam's game. May have faired better with a nippy partner but I doubt it. Time to spend that money elsewhere.
Signed Mr Stating-the-bleedin'-obvious.
There is not one position filled that I am happy we can do or get better in. If we miss out on Carroll and Nolan gets injured-we are fucked. Sam will know this.

I wouldn't. I would get Alou Diarra back from exile. Exactly the type of holding player we need. Diame is not disciplined enough and is better off being "allowed" to go forward. Trouble is, I think Diarra has burned his bridges with BFS

O'Neil is an expensive average player. We would look to improve a midfield and he is out of contract so a burden easy to shed. Got to hope that Sam has plans for our average midfield (and I include Noble in that) As TP says; we desperately need a defensive midfielder to be the kingpin. Perhaps the aging Ambrosini will provide that? Essien back from France soon????
