Re: Austin....finally....
Fair enough, although £15m is overpaying. Anyway, they've got to persuade him to come ... just about every striker we sign ends up crocked.

I just can not see the Daves paying £15M on another front man, I don't think this will happen

Re: Austin....finally....
There is nothing in that article to suggest anything.
It's just a rehash of all the known facts. He wants a move, he's on our "list". the asking price is too high. We have not, repeat, we have not made any official enquiries about his availability.
They've also tagged the Robert Green rumours onto the bottom. In true journalist form, they've done their maths. Adrian is out, QPR want to move on high earners, Green used to play for us, we're interested in bringing Green back to cover for Adrian.
It's, ALL, bollix.

I'd have Green in a heartbeat over Randolph who looks shaky to say the least

He is not crocked at present but he did fail a medical a few years ago due to a knee injury
£15m is not over the top for a striker who got 18 goals in the PL last season. Benteke cost £32m. That puts it into perspective doesn't it?

Re: Austin....finally....
Apparently the west ham inside has said we aren't interested in Austin, the knee problem equals too greater risk. Apparently

Re: Austin....finally....
I'm not saying Austin is not worth £15M , I just don't think the daves will invest 'another' £15M on a front man that will play second fiddle to Carroll when he returns for a whole 4 games this season

Re: Austin....finally....
The Daves are ambitious blokes who want us to go places......having Nolan. Maiga and Rudolph in our team doesn't scream ambition to me. Id go and get Austin...........and another keeper. I still cant believe that we bought in Rudolph before Bilic was on board, what was the thinking behind that ? They couldn't have watched him play because he has looked shocking in the 3 games I saw pre-season.

Yeah they want us to go places, but will want a profit out of it too.

QPR have just signed another keeper so maybe Greenie will come back I'd feel happier with him than Rudolph the red nosed keeper!

BBC - Sport wrote:
Charlie Austin: QPR striker 'outraged' by David Sullivan 'slur'
Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin has accused West Ham chairman David Sullivan of making "an outrageous slur" on his professionalism.
Sullivan, speaking on a West Ham fans' said the Hammers considered Austin too great a risk as a signing because of knee problems.
Austin, 26, is expected to leave Loftus Road this summer.
He said "I feel I have no option but to address the inaccurate, misleading and uninformed innuendo."
He added: "It is one of a number of inaccurate reports about my so-called injury problems made over the summer."
Championship club QPR have stated the England striker, who failed a medical at Hull in 2013, will remain with them until their £15m valuation is met.
Sullivan said: "Firstly, we haven't got £15m to spend under the fair play rules. Secondly, he failed a medical at Hull a couple of years ago.
"They say he has no ligaments in his knee, who knows? To sign a £15m player is a big risk. He could go on for years, but knowing our luck his knee will go in his first game and that's the end of it."
You can see where his son gets it from, can't ya.

So I take it that Charlie Austin will not be coming to West Ham.
Can't help thinking the transfers have dried up.

Re: Austin....finally....
Oh I dunno, at least he's explained about the previous medical failure at Hull.
Carroll has injured his injury putting a shoe on apparently. He's Dean Ashton all over again.
I can understand why the board don't want to sign him, they weren't keen on Carroll but Fat Sam got his way and look where that's got us.
Pay Carroll off, release him, let him go. If he was a horse they'd have shot him by now.

Re: Austin....finally....
I heard the Carroll injury was only an extra few days. It's frustrating but not the end of the world.
As a meme I saw on Fb, Austin has actually managed to play at least 30 games for about the last 5 years. I love our owners but I don't think they managed the situation very well. A straight out denial would of sufficed. Brining up austins injury record (as Austin pointed out, that stuff was private) was not a very professional way to go about it. In the news for all the wrong reasons. Again.

Re: Austin....finally....
It is worrying that there are reports that Carroll is training with the first team again.....expect us to sign no one and rush Carroll back to another injury.....club statement "disappointed not to sign a striker in the window because we were led to believe that Andy would be back to full fitness.....we have sacked the medical team"
