    yup, me again...

dragged my ass out gf bed for a 6:00am kick-off (local time)

but it's the glamor of the cup, right?

our two most contentious players - Noble and Carroll don't even make the bench

    Hart in goal

    Rice gets a start

    Cullen plays

    Ayew and Chicharito up top

other than that it's the usual suspects.

not much to write home about thus far... daily even... i think each keeper has touched the ball once in the first 8 minutes

The Shrews home for is good, 210 wins in about 15 games... they've not lost in their last 5 games...

West Ham corner comes to nowt

    oh yeh... Hart is captain.

why would you make a loan player captain?

what message does that send to the players who actually, you know... play for and belong to the club?

Reid's on the pitch... he's the usual (c) when noble isn't... why give it to Hart?

Hart makes the first save... from a Shrews free kick...

it's a game... not great, not terrible... about a standard FA Cup, 'big' team vs 'little' team...

    almost half an hour gone

Only one team in this at the moment.
Looks like we are just waiting for them to score.

morning Charlie... didn't see you there.

the Facebook crowd are not happy...

not sure if it's just cos I've done this so often... but I'm not that bothered or upset by the performance... it's how these things usually go.

we have no shape, no clue, nothing really... so it's just a typical West Ham performance these days... the Shrews are up for it but I'd be surprised if they weren't.

    Hello Westhamonkey.

    Very disappointing game for us.

You can see we can improve our team by getting midfield players from teams in lower leagues.

    we really miss Antonio

Dunno what's happened to Kayoute but he seems to have forgotten how or why he plays footie

No changes for the 2nd half - which is inexplicable really given how lackluster we are

why are they not bandaging that bloke's head?

if shaving cream was an effective remedy for head bleeding surely the military would use it...

aren't there supposed to be rules governing this?

exactly what i'd expect from a Moyes led West Ham

only positives were Rice and Cullen

Listened to the whole game on the  radio, only bright spots were Josh Cullen and Declan Rice, Ayew should of been takenoff before half time. Half tbe team didn't seem to want to be there, the other half were not at the races overall a very poor performance and gives us an other unwanted game when we have more important things to focus on.
Reid now out for afew weeks (means Rice, Burke and Oxford may get a chance) Cullen needs false teeth! Ayew should be sold.
Hart was captain as he started his career at Shrewsbury.

    David Moyes quote
"Do I want to win the FA cup? One hundred per cent. If I could win the cup I would definitely try to win the cup, but I couldn't do it if I thought it would affect the Premier League"

Destroyed by Premier League status as the be all and end all of football today. Add to that the foreign players that don't have the vaguest clue of "the magic of the FA cup", and there you have it. Not worrying, sickening!

Nice gesture having Hart as captain.

Thanks for clearing up the reasons behind Hart being made captain.

I get it now... but it still doesn't make sense to me.

This wasn't some novelty kick around, charity game or testimonial, Hart isn't even a permanent West Ham player - maybe I just don't have sentimental bone left in my body... but this was supposed to have been a professional engagement and an easy victory for a top flight team...

why're we messing with the order of things to make a loan player feel special...

anyway... onwards and upwards... gotta figure out a way to beat Huddersfield
