How the fupp is it 2019?

Every time I the that I feel like I kinda blinked and missed 2002-2019... did anything interesting happen?

Well after last week's lackluster performance at Villa... we need a big turn around in the morning... yes... morning... it's a 6:00am kick off over these here parts.

noble is in the press wittering on about how with a good performance we could be up to third... not realizing that should have been the thought process and outcome last week.

any road up... thing is... we could have been 5th with a possibility of 3rd with a good result...

but we're actually 11th with a possibility of 4th with a result or 13th if Palace win their game and we don't.

Still... 4th would be nothing to bitch about.

but more realistically...

Chelsea will lose and the Arse will win which means we'd be playing for 5th, which would still be nice.


so... gotta go get some shut eye to be up that early on a sunday...

okay, little bit behind as I couldn't get out of bed quickly enough.. will catch up as we go...

Lanzini is not playing... Fornals is out there instead.

other than that... same line-up as I write earlier...

bright start from us...

pressing nicely, having almost all the possession... passing is a little off... but the first 5 minutes have been almost all in the Utd half...

except as I type that they get a throw and come at us... but we pussh them back to their defense to make them play out...

shame we didn't do this against Villa...

shit passing at the back puts Fabianski under pressure and his hurried clearance goes out... that's not gonna work against Utd.

if we can get our passing together we'd be a pretty decent team...

we're not giving Utd much time or space on the ball - which is the secret to beating teams... we just don't do it as often as we should.

well, maybe not 'beating' them... but it certainly stops them beating you...

13 minutes gone and neither keeper troubled (except Fab's forced clearance)

ooh... nice flying body check...

Ogbonna's lucky not to be sent off for that... but riding a yellow this early in the game is not cool... ask Arthur.

first shot either keeper's had to handle and Fab makes an easy save... but his quick goal kick goes straight to Utd...

but in an un-West Ham manner... we win back possession from open play

oooh... our first 'shot' on goal...

comes after a bit of Utd possession... but Yarmoloenko's shot is soft as butter and straight into the keeper's arms...

halfway through the half...

Utd are getting more into things...

but if we defend with 11 men then of course thee's going to be no one up field to receive Noble's high and hopeful clearance form the back...

that was a better move from us but Fornals final paddocking was way off the pace and Yarmo could do nothing with it...

this is two teams just dithering about... neither really have a cutting edge or any seeming interest in scoring...

5 minutes to till half time and I can press the FF button and catch up with reality...

also, 5 minutes for someone out there to put in a pass that gets to its target...

holy shit...

this game makes me eat my words every time...

West Ham press...

Noble has the ball and does circle after circle with me saying to myself... when's he ever going to actually put in a decent pass to anyone...

and then he passes to Yarmolenko who turns in the box and curls a low shot past a bunch of players and into the bottom corner of the net past the outstretched fingers of the Utd keeper...

43 minutes and the Cockney boys lead 1-0.

and there goes the half time whistle and we have my two least favorite players to think for us heading in for oranges and a cuppa with a goal advantage...

funny old game.

Diop almost lands us in trouble by thinking Fabianski is coming for a ball when he clearly isn't...
