Like or Dislike?

I've noticed today that we have like and dislike buttons at the bottom of posts. 

I've pressed the like button a few times but it doesn't appear to do anything. So before anyone asks,
I know not where they come from or what they do

Pressed it, shows I like the post. Like Twatter and Bookface, you can like what someone's posted without replying.

I pressed 'dislike' on Jiggs post... the dislike button shows up red when I am in this thread

underneath it says 'Blakey liked this post'

I pressed 'like' on the post I just posted.

t shows up green and says 'westhamonkey likes this post' underneath
