James Tomkins has finished top of the pre-season 'match minutes' table.
The
table - which represents the total number of minutes each player has
spent on the field during pre-season - has been topped by a trio of
young defenders hoping to play a major role in West Ham United's 2011/12
Championship campaign.
James Tomkins, Jordan Spence and Winston Reid took the top three spots -
whilst fellow youngsters Jordan Brown and Cristian Montano, perhaps the
highlight of pre-season, took spots in the top ten. Of the 38 players
used in the first team's pre-season programme, only two - right back
Spence and left midfielder Montano - have featured in all seven
fixtures.
Sam Allardyce gave opportunities to four triallists during pre-season -
Joey O'Brien, Jose Hernani, Alex Lopez and Jlloyd Samuel - with O'Brien
the only one to sign a permanent deal at this stage (talks with Samuel
are expected to continue later this week).
