West Ham United are unlikely to be granted any more warm-weather reprieves after a three-day jaunt to Portugal only produced elimination from the FA Cup last weekend.
Karren Brady, the club's vice-chairman, has promised that she will need to have a 'hard think' before funding similar getaways, as the players failed to deliver after their most recent such training vacation.
Writing in her 'football diary' in The Sun, Brady said she'd made a quick calculation that last Sunday's FA Cup defeat at Stoke cost the club "about £1.2 million".
Brady explained that the Hammers did not "get much of an immediate return on the players' warm-weather break in Portugal so there will be another hard think before I agree to it again."
She has been at odds with the Upton Park coaching staff before, having publicly revealed in her column that she rescinded an impending transfer for Steve Sidwell despite manager Avram Grant's proclamation that it was a done deal.
When asked for a comment then, Grant replied, "Maybe I will have a column in a newspaper and say what I think."
No word yet on how Brady feels after the Hammers drew 0-0 away to Tottenham on Saturday afternoon.
She should learn to keep her trap shut , we went out of the FA Cup down to a inept ref who blatently sided with the inbreeds , nothing to do with warm weather training not having any affect
