Did anyone else hear these jets over London.

I was unaware of this and did find it strange that they were flying so low for about half an hour.

I've heard a few people talking about the helicopters that have sortee'd over London in recent months. Not the regular police hunting a crim, whirling by a light stream chopper but a Nam type carrier going over in the evening & returning several hours later. Olympics security suspected.

They been practising with boats up the Thames too....

    From Mail Online ...

Around 100 marines and 50 officers rehearsed a string of high-speed drills amid fears attackers could use the waterways to launch onslaughts on London landmarks.

About 50 marine police officers in rigid inflatables and fast response boats were joined by up to 100 military personnel and a Royal Navy Lynx helicopter for the exercises.

Assistant Commissioner Chris Allison, head of the force’s security operation for the Games, said a Mumbai-style terror attack was one of a host of potential threats to the games.

The Royal Marines and Met Police formed a line across the River Thames as part of the security operation. The costs of security for the 2012 London Olympic Games is estimated to reach more than 1 billion euros, it has been reported.

Saw the boardings on Sky News. Impressive & a little bit like when I first saw the SAS storming the Iranian embassy.
