Hammers make audacious bid for Chelsea's Kalou to boost promotion push

West Ham have launched an ambitious bid to sign Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou on loan.

Manager Sam Allardyce has gone cool on Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic after their £6m bid was rejected and is hopeful that Chelsea will allow them to take Kalou instead.

The 26-year-old is available after being used sparingly by Andre Villas-Boas but may need some persuading to drop down a division. Allardyce also asked about Florent Malouda but was told he was not available.

Kalou has been a target for Premier League clubs including Arsenal but Chelsea would rather sell him abroad than to a rival. A short term move to the Championship may suit.

If true then would be a brilliant buy , Would help give us a extra boost in the race for automatic promotion

How ever he would not want to drop down a league to play for us ... maybe if we were in the prem then yea maybe but not while we are in the championship
