Is this how it works .
    We won't face Birmingham in the semi's - its 3rd vs 6th and 4th vs 5th.
So we will probably be playing Blackpool, Cardiff, Middlesbrough or Brighton in the semi,s and play Birmingham in the final
Also we will be playing away first, and will be at home for the 2nd leg nailbiter

If the table was to stay as it is then we would play Cardiff in the semies and most likey Birmingham in the Final .....

And we wont know who plays at Home or away first etc until we know who playing who WH Flag

Think you're right, but am trying to remember the games agaist Upswich town, first year we played at home first and dreww 2-2 then beat them at Portman road (I think). The next year we were 6th so must have played the second leg at UP.

I want Blackpoo in the s-f as we have scored 8 against them already. and Brighton in the final and beat the 64-0 cheesey grin

Home 'advantage' in the second leg for those teams finishing higher up the league. Should we finish 3rd, we will play away on the evening of Thursday 3rd May, with the home leg a 4.30pm kick-off on Bank Holiday Monday, the 7th May.

In the clashes mentioned v Ipswich, having finished 4th we were away in the first leg in 2004, losing 1-0 (Darren Bent), before turning it around with a 2-0 win (Matty Etherington and Christian Dailly) at home in the second leg.

In 2005, we finished 6th so played at home first, drawing 2-2 (Harewood and Zamora in the first 15 minutes, a Jimmy Walker own goal and Shefki Kuqi levelling) before winning the away (second) leg 2-0 with both from Bobby Z.

With that bunch of chavie Chelski sorts beating Saints 3-1 tonight we could still be on for second spot. just have to win each game 25-0 to make up the difference in goals, as they have Lambert and llanna and we hae the tree! cheesey grin

Some Tweets on the Play Off,s

I can’t stress any more that we can’t guarantee that we will get past the semi-finals. Then there is the stomach-wrenching stuff at Wembley – @Apisadmirer

If we play like we did against Birmingham and Brighton then we will get there, but miss chances like we did at Bristol and we won’t. Take each game at a time – @McGrath88

There is a mixture of blind optimism and utter despondency among West Ham fans. I think we’ll do it – @Tommy_OConnor

Totally wrong to be thinking about Wembley and the play-off final. One game at a time – @PercyBlakeney63

We can talk about the play-offs all we like but I for one can’t see us winning them. The team has got the talent, but not the bottle – @ljt1970lee

I’d fancy our chances over two legs against anyone except Reading, who fortunately won’t be in the play-offs – @niall_mcdonald

West Ham fans are not right talking about a Wembley final. They’ve been talking about automatic promotion all season. Too delusional and, therefore, expectant – @ChrisGordon77

We are not going anywhere until we learn to defend. Too many dropped points because of dreadful defending. Errors week in, week out – @oakey_dokey

It’s all fine talking about a day out at Wembley and doing things the hard way but we still have to do it! The Brighton game was a must win and we won 6-0. Last night was also a must win and we drew. Jekyll and Hyde United – @Nigel_Harwood22

We must take one game at a time and not get carried away. I have said from the start of the season that we would struggle as soon as we were labelled favourites – @Ben_Collins332

If anyone can get us through the play-offs it will be Big Sam. He has had one objective this season and that is promotion at any cost. Now we get to see what this team is made of – @ThomasClarke123

I think the problem is that Sam doesn’t know his best starting XI. He needs to have some idea who he will play in the play-offs first. It should be the same team home and away – @DPD65

We need to get winning momentum or we are going nowehere but the Championship next season – @765ILangton

Like the one in Bold but I,m in two minds at the mo about going up

    From the offishul.....

    Play-Off ticket update
Fans who buy a ticket for the Hull City match will be given special priority for the Play-Off semi
    18.04.2012

Fans who buy tickets for West Ham United's final home game of the season with Hull City will be given special priority for the club's Play-Off semi-final, should West Ham finish in the Play-Offs come the end of the season.

The Hull City match on 28 April will see the Hammers wrap up their league campaign and any fans who buy a ticket for the 'Season Finale' will be awarded special priority for the home leg of the Play-Off semi-final. As with any game, usual ticket priorities will apply in the first instance, but then any remaining tickets will be made available to fans who attended the visit of the Tigers for an exclusive 24-hour period before they go on general sale. Please note that as a result there may be none left for general sale. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
