Re: Silly Season Summer 2012
This is rumour that was floating around a couple of months ago, and first appeared in The Mail towards the end of May – and it seems to be starting up again and gathering a bit of momentum.
Sam Allardyce is supposedly interested in bringing Joe Cole back to Upton Park.
There doesn’t seem to be anything beyond just speculation at the moment, and tenuous articles with suggestive rhetoric, but it’s not a bad theory. It’s all going to depend on whether the player is actually in Brendan Rodgers’ plans at Liverpool. Given his technical proficiency, Cole would seem to be a snug fit for Rodgers’ pass-heavy ideology, but by the same token he’s never looked completely comfortable at Anfield – regardless of who has been managing him.
Cole will be 31 in November, and he just can’t afford to sit on the substitutes bench anymore – his time at Chelsea felt like a bit of a waste because of that, he was a useful player but never an essential one.
A move to West Ham would actually suit both parties: the club would inject their side with proven Premier League quality, and the player would be guaranteed a starting birth every week. There would have to be some compromise over wages, but a potential transfer fee wouldn’t be anything that would test Gold & Sullivan financially.
This is definitely one to watch if Cole is a bit-part presence for Liverpool through August – defence is the priority for West Ham, but adding someone of Cole’s ability would clearly be in the club’s interests.

I would love to have J.Cole at West ham but we all know deep down that it will not happen !
I`am sure J.Cole would come back if Liverpool didnt want him but the fact is that Liverpool are unlikely to lone him out again and pay some of his wages.

Joe Cole is an injury prone over rated has been. Never lived up to the hype and has been totally mercenary throughout his career.

I'd go along with a fair bit of what Blakey says, never been as good as the hype made him out to be, and to be frank has wasted a large portion of his career sitting on his arse.

I cried when Joey Cole left West Ham, one of our home grown babies and all that, but it would be wrong to bring him back.....He just doesn't have what we need.

Re: Silly Season Summer 2012
West Ham have been linked with a move for Sevilla's Argentine defender Federico Fazio in the Spanish press.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is keen on the 25-year-old centre-back, who can also play a holding midfield role, according to Marca.
No offer has been made as yet but it is claimed that Hammers officials will set the ball rolling today as Allardyce looks to add strength and depth to his squad before the first game of the Premier League season.
Fazio has got two years left on his current deal with Sevilla and is valued at just under £5million by the Andalusian club - who rejecetd a £5.5million bid from Arsenal for him in 2009.
Allardyce switched his attention to the player after missing out on Mallorca's Ivan Ramis, who signed for Wigan at the last minute.
Fazio is one of the several options currently being considered but West Ham but they want to see him in action first hand before making a final decision.
Sources had claimed West Ham were planning to watch him play in the match against Borussia Moenchengladbach last week, but cancelled the trip at short notice.

I hope we tell Wolves to stuff it with regards to Matt Jarvis, just read a bit from their unknown manager Stale Solbakken talking about our offer "We want the money, we can't wait two years for West Ham" cnut

I think we should give Woolfs what they want. Jarvis wants out and we want Jarvis, I dont see the point in playing hard ball just because their manager has got a big fat mouth.
