Awwww mate ...
Hardest part of being a parent .... seeing your own whizz through milestones.
I thought the hardest, was first time they go out on their own....well, every time actually :|

Re: Little Stevenage Jack...
I have to admit the move up to senior school is a sort of crunch time. They stay a bit longer at 'grundskola' over here & my son finished this year & starts at high school in august. To be honest the process started after christmas & quite a few mum's were in tears on the final day - probably because they realised the significance. The fact they had a fantastic teacher who was also a great help to my son made matters worse & I was also filling up. Things like my son travelling to play league football & running in Helsinki's olympic stadium start to bring it home. The kisses turn to hugs at the most & a high 5 in public. He is off with his mates now unless he needs some cash!. For me it's a funny feeling - given how we thought he'd be when we were told he was autistic when he was a child, it's great to see him having such a social circle & involved in so many activities, but it's a bit gut wrenching to know he's on his way.
My daughter starts what is the equivalent of A level school after the summer & finished high school in June. If her years there are anything to go by I don't imagine I'll have much to do with my son when he is there. Her leaving event was the first time I'd seen some of her class for about 4 years!
