The North Korean women's football team have walked off the pitch at Hampden Park in Glasgow in a row over flags.

The action was apparently in protest at the South Korean flag being mistakenly displayed beside players' names on a screen prior to their Olympic football match.

I suppose we could post travel knightmares in here too.

I noticed Darran used the M25 today instead of the A13.

I have been trying out different ways to w**k this week in preparation, it’s like a finguck Olympic event in itself.

Option 1: usual journey – DLR to Strafford / Central line to Mile End, for obvious reasons this is out of the question from tomorrow.

Option 2: todays choice - DLR to West Ham / District Line to Mile End, according to LU staff West Ham is going to be ‘hell on earth’ (a direct quote) with queues between the DRL/Jubilee line and District lines being on a par with Upton Park at final whistle.

Option 3: tomorrows route – DLR to Bow Church changing at Poplar then either the 25 bus or Shanks' pony.


If it wasn’t for all those lovely soldiers from Woolwich Barracks getting on the DLR when I do, this Olympic business would be starting to piss me off

What a strange situation this whole security f--k up has produced. The armed forces are one of the few things that we still do really well. They are respected throughout the world. They are hugely popular at home. But when organising the greatest international showcase event ever for this country, LOCOG decided that the security should be outsourced to a private outfit who would ensure that visitors were welcomed by people dragged off the dole queue, given the minimum wage and a flourescent jacket, and told to get on with it. And they couldn't even manage that. In the quest for maximum profit they tried to hold off actually employing and paying people till the last possible moment, and then surprise, surprise , most didn't turn up. So now in desperation we turn to the armed forces, who should have been lined up for the task years ago and would have been proud to do it. And just to rub their noses in it , we give loads of them redundancy notices. Yet we all know that they will do the job cheerfully, patiently, and properly and their very presence will be a positive for visitors and participants and for the UK. I for one am proud of them , and extremely grateful.

G4S were given the Olympic gig because the government could give a shit about joe public and they will use G4S to replace some police duties even if they are an ocean going cluster fcuk. All to do with brown paper envelopes.

I love working in the role i do
the other week i was where they train the attack dogs, i was not allowed to play with them though

BBC have just shown wimbledon with about 10% of the seats taken, bloke in w**k could not get a single ticket for the tennis
something bloody stinks here , some people have paid serious money for some tickets, yet there are 1000s of unused seats

Here's some possibilities -
- The anti ticket tout drive is actually working, and some spivs have lost a packet.Unlikely...
- Empty seats are reserved for all the international Olympics hangers-on, who are too busy enjoying their free holiday in London and don't actually give a shit about watching sport.
- Massive overpricing.
