    West Brom v West Ham
    December 16, 2012 3:30pm
    REFEREE: Lookatme PHIL DOWD
West Brom and West Ham will both be keen to put last weekend's defeats behind them when they meet at the Hawthorns.

Three straight defeats have taken the gloss off West Brom's eye-catching start to the season after four wins on the bounce had seen the Baggies reach the giddy heights of third place, before a disastrous first half at Swansea heralded a change in fortunes.

The changes made by Steve Clarke for the Stoke game did not w**k out, and the defeat at Arsenal pushed West Brom down into sixth place.

Ben Foster has been absent for the last six games, with West Brom's last clean sheet coming in the goalkeeper's most recent appearance before his groin surgery.

West Ham will be keen to earn their third away win of the season following on from their home defeat by Liverpool.

The Hammers had hit back after conceding an early goal to take the lead before half-time, only to see old boy Joe Cole equalise.

James Collins' own goal sent West Ham to defeat when hopes had been high of following up the stirring win over Chelsea a week earlier with another three points.

Their last visit to the Hawthorns, in February 2011, saw the Hammers claim a point despite conceding three goals before half-time.

Claudio Yacob, Ben Foster and Liam Ridgewell are all doubtful despite returning to training this week.

Yacob was forced to miss last weekend's defeat to Arsenal with a hamstring problem, while Ridgewell limped off with an ankle injury against the Gunners.

Foster has missed the last six games following groin surgery, but it seems unlikely that he will be risked with Boaz Myhill set to continue.

George McCartney's knee injury, suffered in training this week, has added to an already lengthy injury list for West Ham.

The defender is a major doubt, while Mohamed Diame is out until January with a hamstring problem picked up against Liverpool.

Yossi Benayoun, Andy Carroll and Jack Collison (all knee), Ricardo Vaz Te (shoulder) and Alou Diarra (thigh) will all miss out.

    Some Facts

There have been three penalties awarded in the last four Premier League meetings between West Brom and West Ham.

The last three Premier League meetings between the Hammers and the Baggies have ended as draws.

West Ham have only won two of their last 13 Premier League away fixtures (W2 D3 L8).

The Hammers have only managed five goals in their seven Premier League matches on the road since returning to the top flight.

West Brom have kept seven clean sheets in their last 12 Premier League home matches, but just one in the last five.

The last time these two sides met was in February 2011 at the Hawthorns and the Baggies were 3-0 up at half-time, only for the Hammers to earn a 3-3 draw with a great second half comeback.

West Brom have mustered just one point from a losing position this season, a joint-league-low.

West Ham are the only Premier League side yet to concede a headed goal this season, while only Manchester United (10) have scored more headers than West Brom (eight).

The Hammers have fashioned the highest percentage of attempts from set pieces in the Premier League this term (40%).

Jussi Jääskeläinen has been forced in to making a league-high 71 saves in the Premier League this term.

Tomorrow is going to be tough but I would hope the team are really up for this after last weekend , I expect us to come home with the 3 points tomorrow ...

Tho it wont happen I would like BFS to go with this team and formation Tomorrow : 4-5-1/4-3-3
    GK.Jussi
    RB.Tomkins
    CB.Reid
    CB.Collins
    LB.O`Brien
    RM.Maiga
    CM.Noble
    CM.Nolan
    CM.O`Brien
    LM.Jarvis
    CF.Cole

If I were BFS i would move Noble to where Diame would play and then put O`Neil in where Noble would play as Playing Tomkins in midfield is just stupid IMO

I`am going 2-1 West Ham ( Cole and Nolan for us and Lukaku for them )

    Maiga and not Taylor? Why?

Tomkins at RB and not Demel? Why?

Sadly we have no real option but to start O'Neil in central midfield, unless BFS has another bump on the head and plays Tomkins there

I can see nothing but disappointment tomorrow I am afraid

The reason being that Demel went off injured last week .. He come off at Half time which is why McCartney came on.
The reason for Maiga instead of Taylor ..... I forgot about Taylor Very Happy

Did Demel go off injured ?

I saw it more as a O'Brien was getting an absolute roasting at left back so Sam took off Demel to allow his mate to move to right back and put a left back at left back.

I may be wrong but I`am sure BFS said after the game that He took Demel of as demel felt a tightness in his hamstring or something along the lines of that. Hope Demel starts he`s beguinning to be an important player for us this season

Dont rate him myself, always looks like he has a mistake in him and switches off too easily.

Would rather Spence or a new right back in the dreaded transfer window.

Maybe throw George Moncur in at the deep end in centre midfield.

    Give him a chance.

3.05pm - We have the Hammers team news. One change, with Diame being replaced in midfield by Gary O'Neil. With injuries limiting Big Sam's options, West Ham have named just six substitutes for today's game.

Probably cos we aint got no more
