Sweden's national sport?

Well after a long season in Sweden it's the final. What of? Football? Ice hockey?

No, after 3 months of knock-out rounds Sweden chooses its Song for Eurovision.

At this time every year I do wonder if Sweden is the campest country in Europe.

Dont watch it , dont read about it and not in the slightest interested in it mate . Flicking through the Afton Bladet today and noticed some plonka in a grown ups nappy . WTF . Its a fix , that or Britain really aint got Talent

I think GB just ring up any 'Division one' rated singer & ask 'Hey Bonnie, what are you up to in May? Fancy doing eurovision? Don't worry, we'll come up with some song for you'

Trouble is my daughter loves it, like her mother used to. I have to leave the room every time a song breaks out.

I saw that bloke you are talking about, G. I thought for a moment he was being ironic & taking the rise out of the whole thing but sadly I think he was being serious.

I suppose at the end of the day its all about taste , most who are in this contest a have a different taste to what we have in Britain , I have notised in the past , many moons ago , the Latvians and the rumanians and the ruskies do seem to stick together and vote for one another .

I also notice that, G & to be honest the points are the only bit I like! I could impress the kids by predicting which country would get 10 points from other countries. To be honest I think all the Scandinavian countries tend to give each other higher marks too - there are just not as many of them! I think there is some justification in it though. I guess you will be more familiar with the artists from neighbouring countries. Sometimes the eastern lot give high points to countries they've been at war with quite recently!

It's all rubbish & shouldn't be taken seriously though - & should have the same status as international jeux sans frontieres!

Hmmm for two fellas who don't watch it ye sure know a lot about it!!! Protest all ye like lads, but I think we've found two Eurovision fans here...

In all honesty they make such a fuss about it you can't ignore it. As G says - the whole of the weekends newspapers are pretty much dedicated to the programme.
