    Strawberry
    Blackcurrant
Bramble jelly ( that's blackberry with the pips strained out)

Unless lemon curd counts as a jam, in which case it goes in above blackcurrant and bramble jelly is out.

But what about marmalades? Are they jams, or in a separate sub-species of their own? If they count as jams, then it's

    Strawberry
    Orange marmalade
Blackcurrant ( or lemon curd depending on its classification )

That would be "savoury spreads" - that's a whole new ball game. If we're going to start on savoury spreads, it brings up a whole new set of questions. Does spreadable cheese count? Is Marmite the same as Vegemite? Is Gentlemen's Relish made by gentlemen or from gentlemen? Does anyone still eat fish paste?

    Well yes...

Marmitte is NOT the same as vegemitte.
Gentleman's relish is made for gentleman but eaten by me and my mum, neither of which are gentleman.
I still eat fish paste, I love crab and smoked mackerel pate.

    Suz,
Marmite is a good old Kiwi invention!. a spread made from meat extract. It was off the shelves for almost 2 years, as the factory was in Christchurch, and got severely damaged by the bad earthquake. Now, Vegemite is an Aussie invention, made from Vegetable extract! Quite different from Marmite, and not nearly as tasty!. Hope this clarifies your spreads for you, and , yes definetly, roll on the new season.
    Cheers

My husband worked in the brewing and fermenting department of the late great Romford Brewery as a beer recovery technician.  One of his jobs was to separate the yeast from the beer ullage received back from pubs, to be collected by "Marmite" on a regular basis.

Incidentally, Marmite is always in my cupboard, and was one of the first words that Lois could say Smile She loves it! Suzanne obviously loves it because it started life swimming in beer. Name Your Top 3 Favourite Jams 2295016252

Some say the Kiwi version is vastly superior! We didn't let the English version in, even when Ours was off the shelves for 18 months! Try it sometime, i believe you can get it up there.Smile
