Re: West Ham United FC V Fulham
We need to Win the next two Games otherwise we could be in for a bad Christmas ! Big Sam has to start with a striker today and that striker being Carlton Cole who to be fair has a decent scoring record against Fulham.
I would go with 4-5-1/4-3-3
Jaaskelainen
Demel
Collins
Tomkins
O`Brien
Downing
Noble
Diame
Nolan
Jarvis
C.Cole
Subs:Adrian,Taylor,Collison,E.lee,J.Cole,Maiga,Morrison
Big Sam has to start Diame today , He made such difference in the 2nd half last week as he always does when he plays !
I 'am going to say 3-1 West Ham(C.Cole,Nolan x2 and Berbatov)

Re: West Ham United FC V Fulham
Allardyce has stated that he has no intention of dropping Nolan. Therefore in order to get some use out of him on the pitch he has to play him behind a main striker
My team would be
Jussi
Demel
Tomkins
Collins
McCartney (or Rat if fit)
Diame
Noble
Morrison
Downing
Nolan
C Cole
Subs:
Adrian
J Cole
Jarvis
Diarra
O'Brien
Collison (Petric if fit)
Lee

West Ham United : Jaaskelainen,Demel,Collins,Tomkins,McCartney,Downing,Noble,Diame,Nolan,Jarvis,Maiga
West Ham Subs : Adrian,Collison,Taylor,Morrison,O`Brien,C.Cole,J.Cole
Fulham : Stekelenburg,Zverotic,Hughes,Amorebieta,Richardson,Duff,Sidwell,Parker,Kasami,Taarabt,Bent
Fulham Subs : Stockdale,Senderos,Ruiz,Kacaniklic,Karagounis,Boateng,Dembele
Good to see Big Sam starting a striker even if it is the useless Maiga and also to see Diame starting !

Thank the Lord - three goals, three bright shiny points in the bag, and a clean sheet!! Eagerly awaiting reports from the attendant faithful congregation, must have been some noise in the old ground tonight!

Re: West Ham United FC V Fulham
Despite playing attacking football and denying Fulham a shot on target in the first half, there was an edgy silence, broken only by murmuring and head slapping. Two minutes into the second and Diame's goal reversed the mood in an instant.
With 10 minutes to go, and still needing the second goal, my heart sank when Carlton Cole came on. Seriously, I tried to leave but Abbi and Russ wouldn't let me out........and then, believing at first that my eyes had deceived me, I realise I've just had one of the biggest fupp my old boots moments of all time! Carlton scored! Credit where it's due I suppose Mini Cole finished off with a goal that he and Morrison were absolutely delighted with.
When did Fulham become so poop? Not a shot on target and allowed us to dominate. Great day at the office boys, and much relief for the claret and blue army.
A good omen methinks, that Crystal Palace is only three days away! COYI !!!

Re: West Ham United FC V Fulham
good result... but a strange game in many ways
23 shots... 12 on target... 3 goals.
Fulham didn't manage a shot on target all game - so looking at those stats... if we couldn't beat Fulham we might as well quit football.
Didn't realize we had so many injuries, so was surprised to see Linda and Maiga playing but no Morrison...
Diame was good, Noble was good
Not sure how we'd have done against better opposition - and we ain't gonna play a worse team than this maybe ever again.
By half time as Jiggs said... was quiet as the grave and even a few dissenting murmurs from the faithful. we'd been well on top for the first ten minutes but then kinda slipped back to be dominant but not making anything out of it.
Not sure why Modibo got the nod to play upfront... I can only hope Sam was saving some legs for Tuesday's quick turnaround in another must-win game.
Glad to see diame get a goal just after the break and that really seemed to change the game - as goals often do.
So second half was hardly underway before Diame got the lucky break and a deflection sent the ball wide of the keeper.
Even then, Fulham rarely threatened... but by the same token we didn't exactly step things up until Sam decided to bring on Morrison who was lucky not to score himself but then in the next move, tee'd up Carlton to slot home.
Then he wrapped things up by setting up the other cole for a nice comfortable win.
Need to do exactly the same against Palace on Tuesday - like i said elsewhere... we need at least 9 points out of 12 from these four games.
22 Jääskeläinen -- honestly had nothing to do all game 5
20 Demel -- looked comfortable and in control 7
03 McCartney -- was okay but would rather we didn't have injuries and could play someone else - 6
16 Noble -- looked very solid defending, ran a lot and never lost his head 8
19 Collins -- solid but unspectacular game 7
05 Tomkins -- same as Collins 7
23 Downing -- seems to want to cut onto his right foot too much 7
21 Diamé -- so glad he's back. Needs to get fitter but he's the best we have 7
11 Maiga -- couple of nice touches but he's a striker in the same way CC is - i.e. not a striker 6
04 Nolan -- he's solid but unspectacular 7
07 Jarvis -- ran a lot then ran out of steam 7
Substitutes
10 Collison
13 Adrián
14 Taylor
15 Morrison -- changed the game. Need him from the start against Palace
17 O'Brien -- was he really a worse choice than Linda?
24 Cole -- don't let the fact that he tapped in from 3yds fool you 6
26 Cole -- needs to play more 7

At the time however, I did say to Abbi and Russ that even I could have scored that one.

Re: West Ham United FC V Fulham
Ok, so we won't play a worse team than Fulham all season but hopefully Allardyce will now try and develop a structure and style that will give our one piece of true class, Morrison, the licence to change and win games for us as he did yesterday.
Jarvis was poor and true to form looks like a championship level winger , bought from a relegated club.
Nolan was also poor and with out a big lump up front where he can ponce off knock downs from hit and hope football is a redundant and spent force in the team and fair play to BFS for replacing him with Morrison but going forward we need a new club captain.
Miaga, although poor is trying and at least gave us an outlet up front
Noble, Diame and Downing all put shifts in.
Defence and goalie really had very little to do but we will defo be better when Reid and Rat are fit.
Deffinately positives to take out of the game and if we can anchor the mid field (Noble ? ) and give Morrison creative license (and keep him fit ) and forget about wingers (Jarvis ), long balls, crosses and hit and hope football and Fat Sam can swallow his pride and do something about the captain we may be moving in the right direction
This doesnt mean ive changed my feelings about Fat Sam, I'm never gonna like his management style but if he's willing to change then so am I !!

Re: West Ham United FC V Fulham
Yes we have to have a sense of humour supporting our lot and when ole king cole was introduced against Fulham there was a resigned laugh and cheer from all Hammers watching the game either at The Boleyn or streamed on TV but
Less we forget Carlton Cole was deemed by Allardyce unworthy of a new contract and released, He was than resigned as a direct consequence of Allardyce's inept and flawed transfer signings and philosophy and is only involved through this crisis management and has only scored against the worst team we will play all season, saying that, I think he'll score against Palace and hey, not to worry,
Cole will be replaced by Kenwyne Jones in the transfer window !!!!
