West Ham will face Aldershot in the first round of the Carling Cup.
The League Two outfit - who finished 14th last season having returned to the Football League in 2008 - will visit the Boleyn Ground in the first week of the 2011/12 season, just a matter of days after West Ham's opening fixture of the Championship campaign.
The Irons and the Shots have only met on two previous occasions; both meetings came in the third round of the FA Cup back in 1991 when Aldershot gave up home advantage before holding the Irons to a goalless draw at the Boleyn.
Billy Bonds' side produced a rather more convincing performance in the replay winning 6-1 through goals from Trevor Morley (2), George Parris, Stuart Slater, Ian Bishop and Jimmy Quinn.
The highlight of the first round draw is undoubtedly the all Nottingham derby between Forest and Notts County - although Orient fans will no doubt be equally relishing the short trip to rivals Southend.
All ties take place in the week commencing 8th August.
