we can do in the way Palace did when they were bottom at Christmas and put on a spurt and almost qualified for Europe by the end of the season... we're luckier... we could start now and be in that position before Christmas....

I wish I had ypur optimisation! 29 points by Christmas, no chance. As for plus 50 points at the end of the season

I'll take 39 points and staying up again, I think thats the best we can hope for, bit of luck and playing our first team we may get to the last 16 of the cariboo/watney/rumblelow/ milk cup, might even get to tbe last eight if we are drawn away against an equally shit team but by then the big boys will start playing half decent players and we will fail miserably again. 

Such is the life of a West Ham supporter, in different circles we would be looked upon as some sort of masochistic nutters, putting up with tbis misery year on year!
