Tricky one, away at Chelmsford, managed to grab a point in the last minutes , still third, hope to at least get a play off party going, but as I have said promotion would kill us at the moment, need to build this slowly and surely

Grays Athletic manager puts himself on to score goal and save penalty
Mark Bentley subs himself on to score equaliser before making spot-kick save
Ten-man Grays then scored late winner against Hampton & Richmond
a good read!

Re: Non-League Thread
Whitehawk 0 - 1 Basingstoke
Weston SM 1 - 2 Concord
Concord (53 points) now 4 points from the playoff with a game in hand over Whitehawk and 2 over Gosport
Basingstoke (63 points) now only 3 behind Bromley who right royally bottled it today at home against bottom club Staines and 2 points behind Boreham with a game in hand
The last fixtures of this league are going to be one hell of a rollercoaster

Re: Non-League Thread
I hope Basingstoke can keep out close relationship with Reading over the years, Moore and Dickie's experience with the town over the last year I think will serve them well,
The full blooded games these two have been in this season I reckon the staff at the academy will notice
Dickie still has a lot to learn, gets a little caught out of position at times, recovers well though, at times when row Z will do he tries to over play, but the lad is comfortable when on the ball , brings it out well and can push a pass to get the attack going quickly.so rough with the smooth.
Moore is hard to believe he is so young, as with Dickie still has a lot to learn but both are young lads, times when Moore needs to come out and command the box he hesitates, reckon with experience this will come, As a shot stopper he is outstanding one of the best I have seen at this level, makes himself very big at one on ones, and very mobile when needed for more direct chances

Re: Non-League Thread
I've missed the last few games as they've been Bath and Weston away.
Took my boy to see Southend against Cambridge Saturday as we got free tickets from school, good job they were free as it was fupping awful. It was their biggest crowd of the season as it was their community day. It was a shocking advert for league football.
Back to non league and proper football tomorrow night with Havant at home, it's going to be tough to keep the run going as they are right up there as well.

11 things you can expect at a non-league game during the international break
With no Barclay's Premier League this week, it is the perfect time to head to your local non-league ground. Here is what to expect
The international break is upon us, and thanks to the #nonleagueday campaign more and more of you will be headed to a non-league football match this week - we've helpfully listed a few local games for you here .
We also thought it'd be worth putting together a guide for the uninitiated who maybe tempted out to some live football.
It goes without saying that non-league football has, in some respects a well earned reputation for the quirky - a cobbled together rabble of footballing stereotypes from the lumbering centre-back to the lazy striker.
Grassroots football at is best though is a passionate end to end affair that may lack in technical quality, but see's both sides give it their all on the pitch.
Before you get out the door though, it's worth noting the perception the majority of your colleagues and, it is fair to say your partner will probably have.

Re: Non-League Thread
CONCORD manager Danny Cowley has won the Vanarama South’s Manager of the Month award for March.
Rangers extended their incredible unbeaten run to 13 games in the league last month and took 16 points from a possible 18 to move to within one point off of the play-off places.
Cowley said: “I am delighted to have received this award and accept it on behalf of all the supporters, committee, management team and particularly the players.
“The consistency of our performances have been something we’ve been working towards and something that we should all be really proud of.
And awards panel spokesman said: “They are often considered underdogs but the Essex club has used this in their favour to win a number of games in the final minutes.
“Their never say die attitude – instilled by their manager – has placed Concord in a position to challenge for the play-offs.
“And if they do make it – it will be a testament to Danny’s leadership. This award is thoroughly deserved.”
Cowley will receive his award before kick-off in Monday’s home game with Hemel Hempstead.

Re: Non-League Thread
Bugger, thought Concord would move into the play off spots today after Whitehawk got spanked yesterday but lost 1-0 to Eastbourne
Basingstoke pulled one out of the hat that Houdini would have been proud of
0-0 away to Hayes in the 68th min Basingstokes McAuley goes and gets himself a straight red,
still 0-0 , 77th min Enver-Marum folows McAuley for an early bath and Basingstoke are down to 9 men
90th min Basingstoke get a pen, Flood slot home, smiles all round
We are really riding our luck this season, in a lot of games we have come away with points we never should have got
