tut tut.
before kick off, i'd happily go on record as saying id be delighted with a draw and the replay at uptown park. Whatever happens I hope whoever is tasked with Berahino is on their game today.

I might get slated here but I personally with where we are with injuries would not risk Playing Sakho or Valencia today and just to playing Cole upfront and give young Lee a chance and the same with Kouyate, Amalfitano, Downing and Song I don't think we should risk them ether to be honest - Making sure we stay in the Top 8 should IMO be our number 1 priority at this stage of the season So for that reason I would go with this team :
Jaaskelainen
Jenkinson
Oxford
Tomkins
Cresswell
Jarvis
Nolan
Noble
Lleget
Cole
Lee
SUBS: Adrian-Henry-Demel-Amalfitano-Downing-Song-Sakho

We are not in any danger of getting relegated so I say "play our strongest side". WBA will certainly be doing that. We really don't need a replay with our injury list so let's go for the win. Sakho and Valencia to start and play with the energy that they did against Man Utd

Yeah sorry Arran, but firmly with Tony here. a) cos i firmly believe wins/good results breed confidence- took us along time to recover from the bad displays against citeh and forrest last year.
Also, exactly as tony said, we are 95% safe now, so what better possible time to go on a cup run. if we was 17th we'd all be saying concentrate on the league....if we don't go for it when 8th then theres not many scenarios left when you'd justifiably go on a cup run

I would have gone for Amalfitano in the side other than that this is the strongest side we could put out.
50/50 I would say.

Amalfitano does seem to come on later in the game when there's a few tired legs and create an impact. we'll see...

Poor defending there but he was half a yard off-side.

No commitment or passion. No consideration for the wonderful away support. No fupping chance. I'm off to do something enjoyable - like housework!

Totally agree.
Game looks over.
Make 3 changes. Take off Nolan, Nobel and Valencia. Move Kouyate into midfield.
Put on Amalfitano, Henry and Cole.

i must admit when i saw it i thought thats a bit ominous. Now it looks down right prophetic. I blame the money man for thisJiggs wrote:Thread title - The Valentines day massacre - How apt!
lets hope this is the lowest point of the season and the team is shocked into a better response for the next league game. I'm not holding my breath however.
It WAS a very difficult run of games, we really needed this to be a home game IMHO.
