here we go, 7 o'clock on a saturday morning... missed the first 1 minute and 50 seconds of the game... wondering who Lowdon is and then realizing we're not the teaming claret and blue...

First thing of note... why the effort would Hart punch? as usual... it wold have been easier and a whole lot safer to catch the ball but instead he punches it...

Burnley are on the front foot...

nothing much to report after quarter of an hour... both sides managed one weak set on target.

we just had a corner that ended up being bounced around and then played all the way back to Hart.

Burnley are gonna be no pushovers so this will not be the easy three points as some people might have thought.

Joe Hart kick... yup... all the way from the box... bounces just in front of the Burnley ara... Antonio is far nimbler and the defender mistimes the ball, so Antonio tricks past him, fools the keeper and basically slots into an empty net.

Carroll gets a yellow card for a totally innocuous challenge... couple other players have escaped for way way worse... but the ref obviously felt he had to book someone eventually...

So almost immediately afterwards.... Carroll goes flying in on a player with his elbow out - and guess what....

2nd yellow card which means a red.

Complete shit from Carroll for being such a twat that soon after having been booked.

Jesus... Hart pretty much takes a player down in the box... he tried to pull out (a little) but we were dead lucky that wasn't penalty.

I think if the Ref hadn't already fucked up and sent Carroll off, there'd have been a spot kick against us.

Burnley's protests are waved away by Stuart Attwell, who is coming under increased scrutiny. Both sets of supporters unhappy with decisions.

Two bookings in the space of a couple of minutes sees Andy Carroll receive his marching orders for leading twice with his elbow.

The West Ham striker gets an initial yellow card for putting his elbow into Burnley centre-back James Tarkowski as the pair challenged for a high ball. Then moments later Carroll does virtually the same thing to Ben Mee.

Stuart Attwell shows no hesitation in showing a second yellow and Carroll is sent off. The striker points to his head as if to indicate he was only thinking of the ball, but it was dangerous play.

no, seriously... the tunnel is one of those concertina affairs... so they pull it out and roll it back... it's on the opposite side to the benches, so all the players, trainers and managers have to trudge across the pitch to get to where they're going...

Hart can't quite reach a long range shot from Burnley - the ball sips past his outstretched fingers... hits the bottom of the post... bounces back and hits Hart in the back but somehow loses all of its momentum and he's able to get to his knees and grab it.

He gets down much better to the next shot...

but Burnley are in the ascendance....
