WHUFC vs Cardiff -- December 4th, 2018

I really am on me own round here ain't I?

had to work today so am just sitting down to watch the game on replay...

been basically all West Ham so far... last stats they put up were 78% possession to us...

Cardiff have just sent the ball lofting over the bar into row Z

We've had a bunch of chances so far and the Cardiff keeper has pulled off a couple of decent saves.

Having lived in Cardiff for about 5-6 years before I popped over the pond never to return, I've got a bit of a soft spot for the Bluebirds and hate to see them struggling...

but my hatred for Warnock and the shit he did to us just makes me sad to see them stuck with that knob end...

26 minutes gone and the Bluebirds are having a tiny bit of possession... but the ball ends up back with their keeper who hoofs it upfield - but then we get it back.

Snoddy has been very busy the far as Cresswell is out with an apparent hamstring injury...

Zabaleta is on the bench because apparently he's too old to play every game this season

Balbuena is also sitting hits one out on the bench because of a dead leg.

Carroll also warms the bench

player running out of the area to chase the ball and gets bundled over by Arnie...

and Fabianski gets down like something that gets down really quickly... and saves.

Warnock's face (ugly at the best of times) priceless

and then on the attack... Arnie pulls up lame, grabbing his hamstring...

played with ten men for a few minutes as Arnie hobbles off around the pitch

Lucas Perez comes on - not Carroll...

we've gone off the boil... not cos of Arnie... we'd already stepped down the pressure which is what lead to Cardiff getting a couple of chances that lead to the penalty...

but the bluebirds are getting the wind up their still and now have a free kick right outside the penalty area...

I might just sit here and reminisce about all me good times in the Welsh Capital... cos the game's gone off a bit...

we're reverting to the performance we gave against Man City... and we all saw how well that went.

half time and a bright opening really did peter out to nothing... disappointing...

never a good sign when you go empty the dishwasher while the game is on...

I was gonna type that as a statement about how boring the gamed become...

even the crowd was grumbling about how poor we'd become...

then Perez gets a ball through the Cardiff defense and only goes and scores...

54 minutes gone...

Massuaku runs in on the penalty area, slots the ball through to the running Perez who slides his shot expertly between the keeper's legs and it's 2-0 to the cockney boys...

this is exactly what we want... a poor performance, from an obviously tired team...

and we're three nil up at home...

Snodgrass corner... antonio header... goal.

Carroll comes on to replace Chicharito...

not quite why there'd be a big cheer for him... I'm so done with him... pointless player

but he's all we got (well apart from Lucas Perez...)

wow... diangana gets an appearance...

good to see the young 'un back in the team... almost scored in fact... with Diangana setting up Obiang who draws an awesome save from the Cardiff keeper.

Apart from a typically shite goal to let in at the death I thought we did what we have failed to do so many times, thumped a poor team. If they continue in this vein Arran's fantasy of 18 points in December is not as sily as I had first thought. Beat all the teams around and below you, create a good feeling and positivity at the club and we could be in the  top half by Christmas. Going under the radar at the moment, another win and even MOTD will be looking  at us in a better light!!

as y'all can probably guess... I was so fupping knackered, I actually passed out on the couch and missed the end of the game... didn't see the Cardiff consolation goal...

anyway... nice to see us play poorly and still win

nice to see us thump a struggling team

nice to see us get 6 points out of 6... couple more wins in the next couple of games please...

The Cardiff consolation goal shouldn't have stood anyway. Fabianski was pushed backwards over the line and into the goal, several of our defenders were held, preventing them from defending. Only the match officials can explain why it stood, but they were giving Cardiff everything anyway. Hence Colin's post match quote, "I thought the ref had a good game"
