Yesterday the quotes I stumbled upon intimated that Avram Grant thought we could stay up.
This morning the quotes I`ve stumbled upon infer that he`s in no doubt that we will stay up with Avram quoted as having said,
"We need three wins to stay up and there is no doubt we can do that."
Three wins from six games and a 50% success ratio doesn`t seem to hard a task.
But then again if we had a 50% win ration all season we`d be flying high.
This Saturday Aston Villa are the opponents, the game could go either way.
If we win, the requirement then becomes two from five, or a 40% win ratio.
If, heaven forbid, we lose, it becomes three from five, or a 60% win ratio!
I suggest we all hope for a win otherwise the pressure could become unbearable!
Even more so when you take it into consideration that a failure to win against Aston Villa, a fixture followed by very awkward away trips to Chelsea and Manchester City, would leave us needing a 100% win ratio from the three games left which would be against Blackburn and Sunderland at home with a very difficult tussle at the DW Stadium against Wigan sandwiched between them.
